Please note that my ratings are delayed due to Canada's rotating postal strike and now I am in Cambodia & Laos till end of December. Thanks for your patience.
Welcome to my profile. I am a social worker working in mental health and addictions. I live in a 1930's apartment in the downtown of a mid-size Northern community in Canada. I live with my husband, King Charles spaniel and a leonberger dog who goes to a countryside daycare 5 days a week.
My home is a bit of a hodge podge of mismatched colour and contrasting themes. Much of my art and ornaments were gathered on vacations. I have a travel goal to always bring home something that was free of cost (so something I find or scavenge) - it can be as simple as a rock or an advertisement. I also like to collect art. Some favourite pieces of art are my carpets from Turkey, Iraq and Rajasthan. For wall art, we have some wonderful Egyptian papyrus, a Guatemalan textile, Thai leaf painting, etc,
I am thankful to receive any swaps and generally give a heart. I love swap-bot, just so many interesting and quirky people here. I like to receive bookmarks, magnets, stationery, vintage items, ATC's, socks, antique postcards, art images, spice blends, postage stamps and odd curios to name a few.
If you have time to include a note or letter, I always appreciate hearing about where you volunteer your time, social innovations, downtown improvement initiatives and travel stories. I don't mind a gritty framing of life, not easily offended by any stretch.
I don't care for cutesy/girlie things or child reward stickers. But really, if I get something I cannot use, I just pass it on.
