Welcome to my profile - I am a medical social worker and just bought a 15 acre hobby farm to move to. This will be my first experience as a rural dweller and I cannot wait to see what animals I adopt. We have stables, a mature garden that has been featured on garden tours (I have zero gardening skills so hopefully the plants don’t all bite the dust too fast), fruit trees, a duck pond and even a tennis court with an automatic ball chucker. So excited!
Things that energize me: visual arts!! - wall murals, kindness, architecture, ATC’s, antiques, drawings, printmaking, quirky things, nature, travel (wide and far), spice! cooking, tea, community development, birds, mammals, social innovation, anything “Griffin,” history, literary fiction, linguistics, mental health, museums.
I should build on TRAVEL: I have become addicted to getting away (not sure what that says about my psyche) since my first independent travel to Guatemala when I was 25. In those days, travel was much different without internet, smart phones or Trip Advisor. Since then, I have accumulated a lot of little star stickers that I adhere to my globe when I hit a new destination. Favorites have included Greenland, Japan, Varanasi, Iceland, Venezuela, Turkey and the Channel Islands. My last trip was to Belize and I am now realizing that I will be confined to Canada for some time if Covid policy has its way.
Wish List: Postcards - I like whacky ones, city scenes, downtown innovation, vintage, artsy, free cards, historic, famous people, galleries, etc Stereographs - collect these💗 ATCs Anything with historical images, culture, arts, quirky stuff, humour, medical Tea Socks Spice Bookmarks Stationery Earrings - gawdy! Tea towels Return address labels. Postage stamps - new or used Coins Ephemera
I don't care for cutesy/girlie things or child reward stickers. I am not religious but don’t mind beautiful religious symbols and architecture (just don’t try to sell me:-) But really, if I get something I cannot use, I just pass it on.
