About Me

I am a young crafter in Australia. I've only recently discovered the crafting bug - my mum has been waiting for me to get the 'sickness' for about 10 years now! I'm 24, living in Melbourne, finishing up my BA and then onto an education degree! I have a fiance in America (boo, long distance!) but am counting down the days until I see him late 2008.

At the moment I'm really enjoying making soft toys. One of my favourite mediums is felt, but I love any of the thicker woollen knits, but they're hard to obtain right own here in such a "hot" country! I'm also trying my hand at embroidery, and finding it challenging but enjoying.

I hope to meet lots of new crafting friends as I don't have anyone around me (besides my mum!) who's into crafts. I also loooove receiving mail, and what better way to receive than to give in return?! I love to give elaborate swaps so that opening the box is like the start of a journey, pulling out treasure after treasure.

Soft toys, bags, embroidery, quilting, charm making, hand-carving stamps.

Wishlist / Likes

Any kind of cute fabric! Cotton print, japanese, and especially wools - felt, knit, lambswool, flannel, etc. Cute buttons (vintage and new!), ribbons and fabric notions. Cute stationary, especially Japanese. Handmade stuffies / softies / soft toys. Anything handmade, really! I especially love cute stuff (although I know everyone's definition of cute is different!) I also really like getting new patterns or how-to's, even on crafts that I don't normally do myself. I'm also rapidly falling in love with craft magazines - we don't have a good selection down here so I'm eager to get my hands on as many as I can!

Dislikes

I'm not really picky! About the only things that are common here on swap-bot that I'm not interested in are dotee dolls. If you have an idea for me and aren't sure, just run it past me!

Favourite colours

I really like earthy-tones more than vibrant shades. Greyed off colours more than baby-pastels.

Comment: Thank you for the package, I'm wearing the cupcake hairclip as a decoration on my school keys (I wear them every day around my neck). I will probably share it with my daughter when she gets a little more hair on her head. Everything was wonderful, quite expensive to send things overseas so thank you so much for taking the time to participate. I will think of you everytime I look at the cute clip!
