About Me

I'm a professional carpet/textile designer and live in MD (DC Metro Burbs). I've lived in various locations over the southeast (Kentucky, Sav. GA, NW GA) and moved back to MD two years ago (back to where I grew up). I'm married, no kids, but 3 kitties. I'm 35 and am an artsy, crafty, gardener, love to cook, hang with my friends, practice Yoga, pilates, swim and stay overly busy. I'm really into the "green thing" and am trying to find ways to reuse, recycle, upcycle and generally live healthier for our beautiful planet. I'm into astrology, Feng Shui & Wabi Sabi but don't live by these doctrines. I believe many people need somthing bigger than them selves to believe in and if you are a fundamentally good person and do good, act kind then believe whatever you would like. I am a do-gooder and try to get involved, sometimes in too many things. I currently am active in my local CSA, Master Gardener association and various other things as time allows.

Favorite Movies

I'll watch just about any films but don't like to watch the same thing over and over. Like scary movies, drama, documentary, some foreign films and some comedy.

Favorite Books

I'm a voracious reader and usually have several books going at once (one for book club and one for me). I'm also a magazine junkie.

Favorite Crafts

I have way too many craft things as most of us crafties do. I don't have any plans to learn new crafts but I do want to improve and "practice" the ones I already am into. Weaving, Knitting, card/collage/art cards (ATC's) artist trading books (ATB's), photography, jewlry making, sewing. I do a lot of mixed media crafts and art, love to use photo's, beads, stitching etc to make multi media stuff. Gardening and cooking are also favorite pass times.
I collect quotes, turquoise/green pottery, interesting/unusual/non invasive plants, beautiful textiles, candles, books, craft materials, fabric, yarn, paper, shells, seed pods, leaves, pine cones, and other bits of nature.
Favorite colors are green, yelllow, orange, teal, brown, black and white (sometimes red & purple). Love textures, mid century mod stuff, Retro-30-70's stuff and anything Nature inspired. I'm not into kitchy, juvinille, cutsey stuff so please save for someone else who would love it. My tastes and style tend more towards graphics, sophisticated, architectural and organic.

Comment: You and I approached this very similarly, playing with the sizes and planning to try making the bottom boxier. I also plan to hand some out through my CSA in the fall. :-) Good for you for making and giving away 4 reusable bags!

Response: I'm sorry I took them to the post office and they posted them and weighed them. They made a mistake on another of my international packages as well. I hate the USPS!
