I am an American living in Canada who recently became a new mom to a little boy named Evan. I am taking some time off to raise my little boy (probably about a year). I enjoy going to the mall, meeting my friends for fru-fru coffees, I don't drink normal coffee). I recently moved into a new house so I'm still trying to decorate it. I am also a bit of an internet junkie. I have a whole bunch of blogs that I read (foodie & personal) and I frequent chowhound.com.

I really love to read. I read lots of "chick lit", some "Oprah Book Club" picks and sometimes heavier stuff. I use reading as escapism so I generally look for books that entertain instead of teaching me something.

I am a TV junkie! I love Grey's Anatomy, Men in Trees, Private Practice, Bones, House, etc, etc, etc. I really HATE daytime TV which is unfortunate since I'm home so much these days. I do like The View, though.

I like scrapbooking but I've never had enough time to do it. I've started scrapbooking for my little boy using K & Company papers. I also like cute stickers to dress up the pages. I have also used Stampin' Up products before for past scrapbooks & card making.

I also like to crochet. I am not that advanced, though, so I generally stick to scarves (wool) and blankets (wool or acrylic). I want to make an afghan soon. I just completed a baby blanket for a friend of mine.

I am also into digital photography. I am trying to learn how to use a manual SLR....it's a process. I also love blogging about my life in Canada with my husband & son.

I received a sewing machine for my birthday and I am up to my eyeballs trying sewing. I have made one purse so far and I want to make more. I get a bit overwhelmed at the fabric store, though so I will have to take it slow. Any fabric, patterns, advice, etc anyone has for me would be GREATLY appreciated!

Since joining swap-bot, I have tried my hand at matchboxes, ATCs & making stuffies. My husband thinks I'm nuts!!! :)

Likes:

• Colours: brown, red, black, purple, orange, blue
• Colour combos: brown & robins egg blue, brown & pink, pink & orange
• Chocolate (yum!!!!).....also pretty much anything candy (except licorice)
• anything "cute"
• bugs (more cute, less realistic)
• turtles (more cute, less realistic)
• monkeys (more cute, less realistic)
• recipes (and cookbooks & recipe cards)
• notecards
• dark multi-colored yarn to make scarves
• kawaii
• matchboxes (and things to make them like ribbons, papers, buttons, ricrac, embelishments, etc)

Dislikes:

• perfume (gives me a headache)
• cigarette smoke smell(I'm allergic)
• "real" coffee (I only drink lattes or other Starbucks-esque concoctions)
• licorice
• romance novels
• acrylic yarn (except for baby blankets)
