I don't know what to put here but I'd like to introduce myself a little bit. I found this website while looking for handmade items for my new house and found a blog about someone's experience swapping packages. It sounded like a nice opportunity to share some of my area, culture, ideas and skills with others and to experience someone elses. I'm 26 and I'm working in a group home for foster children. I'm very open minded and I love learning and adventure so I can have fun doing just about anything. Some things that come to mind right away:
I majored in Psychology and Philosophy, which are both really interesting to me. I'm a lifetime learner though, always looking for something new to study. I love reading, pretty much anything and everything that I can get my hands on, my room is filled with books. Dancing- I was a cheerleader for 7 years in high school and that never wore off so I've expanded on that by learning different dances. I've had atleast some experience with line dancing, belly dancing, ballet, jazz, hip hop, korean dancing, japanese dancing, african dance, irish dancing, hula, contemporary dancing. Traveling- Some of the places I've been that were interesting include Florida, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Cancun and British Columbia. I love music- listening to it, singing, I play a few different instruments- I've played flute, violin, keyboard and now I'm learning guitar. I really enjoy languages- words can mean so much. I like writing occasionally, I love quotes- some people say things so much better than I can- I've learned a good deal of french and spanish, teaching myself latin. I'm very creative, I love making things- anything and everything. I like to cook and bake, I like painting, I make quilts, crochet, I'm learning cake decorating. Photography is a hobby as well. I love nature. I love animals, I love being outside. I don't mind getting dirty. I like camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing etc. Scuba diving is something I always wanted to do and 3 years ago I was able to take a class and since then I've been obsessed, I've dove some wonderful places and seen some amazing things. I love the variety of life under the sea.
Some things that I like: the color blue, candles, books, coins, animals, photos, drawings/paintings, sweets, chap stick, necklaces, rings, things that are old, things handmade, things from different cultures, glasses, magnets, fabric, anything that's different and creative. movies, cds, games, recipes, chocolate, christmas ornaments, magnets, household items, photos, animals, anything halloween, souvenirs, postcards, anything scuba diving/ocean related..
I love new things. I especially love things that are unique to different areas or things I wouldn't find here... and I LOVE things that are handmade.
I grew up on country music so that'll probably always be a favorite but I have wide spread tastes in music. My ipod is the most random ever... one song will be Nora Jones and the next Katy Perry. I can enjoy any genre and I have favorites in everything ranging from Broadway to latin music and everything in between and love to hear what others are listening to.. maybe I'll find a new favorite.
Ohh.. that's a tough one. Luanne Rice is one of my favorite authors. Everything that I've read of hers has been great. I also really like Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Their books are very intelligent and keep you guessing, I could spend all day listing favorite books- I'll read anything.
Man on Fire Labyrinth Goonies Rent Space Balls Dolly Parton's Smokey Mountain Christmas Dirty Dancing Pearl Harbor The Wedding Date Pay it Forward Disney movies Practical Magic Princess Bride Phantom of the Opera
Lots more...
Nip/Tuck, Charmed, Army Wives, Medium, Law and Order, Private Practice, So you think you can dance, River Monsters, Grey's Anatomy, Touch.
I've done way too many to list. I like trying new things and I'll try just about anything.
I love everything hand made.. hand made means so much more.
I won't sign up for a swap that I won't send out. If for any reason you don't receive something or it gets damaged in the mail just let me know and I'll correct it.
I love surprises. Hearts for people who send things that are unique whether it's something handmade or something that's from where you're from or something that you like that not many people know about.
