About Me

Hello! I'm a nearly 30 female engineer and I'm curious about everything.

I really enjoy post and getting home to find something exciting or pretty waiting for me! It can make a bad day so much better to receive a lovely letter or gift.

I love travelling to new places, I have a long list of places I'd like to go - some local places for days out and some places I might never see, but I can dream :)

I really enjoy creating things and making things look pretty. I'm interested in sewing, and getting messy making and painting things! My current projects are dressmaking, quilting, and watercolour painting.

I also love just watching beautiful views, sunsets, the stars, and getting to the middle of nowhere and just stopping to be alive :) I like to go out hill walking to see the views.

A few more specific things I like include: typography/ quotes, tarot, sewing, reading, animated films (but not anime), maps, art and museums.

I will turn 30 this year, any advice on living life to the full and accepting aging welcome!

I'd love to swap foreign sewing or quilting magazines, if anyone would like to trade :)

Things I like

Things I like on postcards and anything else :)

typography/ quotes,

sewing/ sewing machines/ embroidery,

Studio Ghibli (especially Totoro),

Kaikai kiki/ Takashi Murakami,

anything Japanese or Japanese style,

aerial views,

stars and the night sky,

Buddhas, temples, shrines, religious statues, Madonnas/ Virgin Mary,

beautiful views and landscapes (mountains/ lavender fields/ panoramic views etc.),

shaped cards,

Art and patterns - art nouveau, art deco, floral, geometric etc.

seasonal cards from any religion or region,

I'd prefer not to receive ad cards, tourist multi-view cards, or anything with photos of food or animals, thank you!

I appreciate nice stamps but I'm not a collector.

Things I would like to receive

folded cards and postcards (I prefer my postcards written and stamped (naked)) - I'm happy to receive good quality homemade cards,

any stationery supplies such as writing paper, letter sets, note cards, postcards, nice envelopes, washi tape, pretty pens (really loving sharpie markers at the moment!), stickers...

sewing supplies - sewing patterns (UK 16/ EU48/ US12), fabric, buttons...

anything Studio Ghibli (but I'm not interested in anime),

anything to do with maps or travel or post related, including airmail stickers,

magnets (especially of local places),

tea towels/ kitchen towels,

little decorations such as hanging crystals, signs, frames...

anything book related or anything Jane Austen,

socks (UK size 6/ EU size 39)

art of Kaikai kiki by Takashi Murakami

little bags and cloth pouches,

scented soap and hand cream, samples of nice body lotion - I prefer natural scents (floral/herbal etc.),

baking accessories,

magazines or books or articles about crafts, especially sewing (in any language if there's lots of pictures)

travel accessories

Favourite colours: deep sea blue/green, sage green, deep purple, metallic gold

Sewing and quilting

I really like rich coloured fabrics, geometric patterns and bright floral prints. I love Japanese fabrics! Please nothing too primary coloured or childish.

Colours I particularly like are greens, blues and purples.

I do a variety of sewing projects so any fabrics, haberdashery items and sewing supplies are welcome. Sewing patterns in size UK 16/ EU48/ US12 :)

I'd love to receive sewing magazines, patterns or articles!

Drink and food

Please don't send anything containing milk, it will make me sick.

I don't drink tea or coffee - please save your nice drinks for people who will enjoy them more :) (unless the swap requires it) Thank you

If you really want to send food, I like sweets and very dark chocolate.

Thank you for your consideration :)

Please don't send...

If at all possible I would prefer not to receive these items -

Anything containing milk

I don't do much scrapbooking/ card making/ paper crafts so I would prefer not to receive anything related to those activities such as bits of paper decoration/ ephemera.

Diaries- I always end up with more than I can use!

Medical looking items e.g. novelty needle shaped items/ gory items/images

Earrings - I don't have pierced ears

Thank you!

Thanks for reading my profile :) I'm excited to receive your swap!

I don't mind if you have to send late, I understand that life happens and swapping is meant to be fun not stressful, please just let me know :)
