About Me

I'm a stay at home mom with a crafting habit! I make and sell natural, handmade toys and children's gifts.

I have two little businesses, a dayhome and I sell handmade toys on Etsy. I love that both allow me to be at home with my 4 year old.

I like to cook, read, stay active and watch reality TV. I almost never watch movies, but I just saw The Help, which is one of my new all time faves! I love people but I also enjoy spending time alone.

Favorite Crafts

I love to sew, crochet, cut and paste, or just about anything else. My favorite crafts are the ones I haven't tried yet!

Colors: Pink, Gray, Black and White. Not Orange!

Style: Simple, Modern, Practical.

Craft Supplies I like: Wool felt, designer cotton fabric, cotton and wool yarn or bulky acrylic for making scarves. Rubber stamps, clear stamps, and archival ink in colors. Watercolor pencils, thin-line permanent markers, nice paintbrushes whiteboard markers and pencils. Vintage buttons! Sewing tools (quilting pins, stitch rippers, gutterman thread and so on), cotton quilt batting, unfinished wood pieces. I always prefer natural materials and I'd prefer a smaller package with high quality items than a package stuffed with lower quality items!

Food: Coffee, raspberries, blueberries, tea, PB&J, health-food-store-finds and nachos. Mmm. Allergic to cloves! I'm not a big candy eater, but I do like gum and chocolate.

Things I don't like: Not a big fan of brown or orange (although I do like them in small doses) I hate Chai tea (allergic to cloves...) Paper, scrapbooking or otherwise, unless it's a pad of paper with lines so I can make lists! Halloween. Not into spooky or gross! Messes Movies

What I'll always be happy to see in a Swap Package: Cool Fabric Something for my 4 yo son Handmade Magnets Vintage buttons Cotton Yarn A note Chocolate that I can't get in Canada Trendy fashion pieces in neutral colors Red and Turquoise together Slippers (size 8!) Wool Socks A really good book Silver earrings (but not bead and wire so much)

Comment: Do not fret, the 'comment' on tumblr is actually an ask, so you did it perfectly! :) do you have a tumblr?
Response: Nope, no tumblr. I use blogger, but I will be switching to my own domain name soon. Yay!

Comment: thank you for a lovely envie!
Comment: Hee hee. Glad you liked the Poison comment! Of course, last week, I read about someone who loved it - I would hate to offend anyone! My college roommate wore it all the time and was NEVER at all offended by my very persistent "comments"! Oh well! Nice to meet you!! :)
Comment: Thanks so much for the link for crochet patterns. I wish you well when you go into Bible college.
Comment: Thanks for the Profile Love <3. The Hogwarts scarves were actually inspired by a summer camp that we do here in Baton Rouge. This was my way of selling them to the campers, but others have purchased them, too. I love your Etsy shop, too. :)

Welcome to swap-bot :) I think it is a very interesting and grateful thing to make toys and gifts for children, and also to own a dayhome! You do what you really like...I would like to live my life in this way, too! :) I looked The Help on the net...I hope it will arrive to Hungary soon.

Happy Swapping! ktina

Yeah it's really cool. I don't have any of my own handmade stuff on my etsy yet as I sell mt (japanese washi masking tape), craft mags/books and vintage children's books. Altho I might put my zine up for sale soon. I noticed you checked out my pinterest and starting following my boards - thanks :D

Ah yes...the orange question! I don't hate orange...I still think orange butterfly or flowers are pretty and I like the flavor orange, but I do hate to wear it! It makes me feel icky and doesn't flatter my coloring!

Hello there Freya,

I had to smile at the PB&J being in your likes. I won't give my age..(lol) But I am older than dirt if you ask my daughter, But I have found that still to this day the PB&J is my most perfect food! Nothing beats it. :O)

I am pretty new to the site as well but have enjoyed seeing all the new type mail items that people are making. It is amazing and makes a mail box so nicer to open..haha

Wishing you the best and much peace to you and yours Fleshb4soul for the (We Are So Differents But We Are So Similarity Swap)

Yey! A fellow newbie like me. Lol. I just joined in this site too. Mabuhay! Greetings from Philippines. This is for the Love Profile Quick Swap #2! My name's Edge. Just like you... I like spending time alone too, though I'm a people's person XD I noticed that you mentioned you don't like Orange twice.. and sounded like with conviction. What made you didn't like the color? Just curious. ^^ And your profile alone shows you really are into crafts. Nice.

Once upon a time, I had a dear friend named Freya...I've never come across anyone with the name since!

Like yourself, I love my reality TV. I tend to get attached to shows for a season, and then am sad when they're over, like a friend I look forward to seeing once a week. laughs I just read the novel version of "The Help", and I really enjoyed it, so planning to see the film soon.

I don't like orange, either. It clashes with my pale skin and bright red hair. However, I dislike yellow even more. Apologies to the person who posted the rainbow and sunshine graphic below!

It's lovely getting to know you, and look forward to perhaps swapping in the future. Oh, and if it's not obvious, I am your partner for the Profile Love #2 Quick Swap! Stop by and visit me sometime, and have a fabulous week!
