I enjoy hand embroidery and making quilts...piecing and applique. Have participated in lots of quilt block swaps, etc. I love collecting beautiful cotton fabrics and quilt patterns (especially primitive designs)....to me there is nothing like visiting quilt shops in the area...especially with my quilting friends!

Obviously, I really like handmade items...I appreciate the time, effort, and creativity it takes to make something special....but I appreciate store bought items, too!! Anytime anyone takes the time to look for just that special something for me is very much appreciated.

I enjoy sending cards and letters as much as I enjoy receiving them. I'm always looking for cute stickers and stamps to dress up envelopes..!

Anything romantic...Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Somewhere in time...etc.......but I also like action and sci-fi movies!! I'm also a Trekkie, a Twilighter, and a Harry Potter fan.....

Anything History Channel.....also NCIS, Desperate Housewives, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, General Hospital, Big Bang Theory, 60 Minutes, etc......

Fiction, biographies, anything history, etc.....

I love traveling although I don't get to do it as much as I would like (you know, work gets in the way)!! Other things I love to do.....nosing through new little shops (especially antique ones)....write letters to friends.....read.....do hand embroidery.....trying out new restaurants....photography.....walking in old cemeteries (I know, sounds morbid, but I love studying family history and cemeteries are all about history and interesting information) playing the piano....take long walks....drink coffee out of china cups (I collect them)... go on vacation with friends and family.....attend quilt workshops and exhibitions with friends. Most of all I love to spend time with my family!!

North Carolina has been my home all of my life...yes, I'm a true southern belle born and bred! HA! As I said, I love traveling but NC will always be my home...at least I hope so!! I married a wonderful man 23 years ago and we've been blessed with two fantastic children.

I work at one of our local elementary schools in the rural area where we live. Luckily I have my summers off to travel, visit with friends, and tend a vegetable garden ;^) I don't consider myself to be very "artsy" but I do try.....

Things I like..... pretty china cups and saucers, interesting postcards, candles (that don't smell too sweet), simple recipes, kitchen gadgets, anything associated with fall (leaves, pumpkins, fall colors, etc.), journals, good quality 100% cotton quilting fabrics, interesting little scissors, buttons, notecards.... as for candies...no butterscotch or licorice(sp?..urgh)...especially like any kind of Werthers hard candy, gummies, chocolates...I'm not picky about sweets! (smile)...also, to get specific I love the Valdani and the Gentle Arts brands of hand dyed cotton floss and pearl cotton embroidery threads. I have found them at www.pumpkinpatchprimitives and www.countrystitchesonline.com. (DMC floss is good, too.) Country Stitches Online also has wonderful primitive silver charms that I love!

Oh, yes...anything having to do with quilts and sewing!!

60's, 70's, and 80's type music....especially Motown, R & B, some classical, beach music (I'm talking the Embers, Chairman of the Board...Myrtle Beach- type beach music)....I guess I like everything except country and heavy metal!! I keep up with top 40 music because I have a teenager in the house....
