About Me

Hello 👋🏾,

March 23, 2021 Update:

I have become a gaming, yarn horde-ing, knitting, crocheting (reg and Tunisian), try making anything I have a pattern for, swapper drowning in WIPs. :D I'm drinking more coffee than tea these days, which helps with my super late nights (the boys make it hard to get any projects done during the day lolz). I'm slowly responding to my penpals, long letters are no longer as fun as stitching. I love snail mail tho so I may eventually just swap here and maybe keep one or two pals. At any rate, I have tons of penpal supplies I would love to trade for yarn lolz. Hit me up for personal swaps.

I still love reading but I'm solely audiobooking it these days. Gotta multitask! I'm currently seeing what all the fuss is about for the Outlander series. Wow, only on the second book but I'm hooked :P

Original: I’m a 34yo stay at home mom since 2016. I have a busy toddler, Zavid Alexander and a womb raider, Zayden Elijah, who was born late April 2019.

I’m super excited that having a penpal is still a thing! 😂 I've started writing folks and I'm getting to know new and interesting people. However, I also want to get more into swaps and postcrossing.

I’m pretty laid back and have had friends of all walks of life back in the day. I’ve lost touch with my high school and college buddies though.

Anyway, here’s a list about me:

-I love reading and listening to YA, historical inspirational fiction, and Sci-Fi novels.

-I enjoy gaming (preferably the more casual stuff like Sims, match three, jigsaw puzzles, time management-notably the Delicious Emily series, Stardew Valley, and Minecraft). I'm currently hooked on Farm Together.

-Hulu and Netflix are my jam! I also watch Amazon Prime, The CW, and CBS apps. I love binged sci-fi, comedy, and family friendly shows. Some shows I've recently watched again are Friends, Frazier, Merlin, Robin Hood, The Secret Circle (so sad it was only one season), When Comes the Heart, Good Witch, Family Matters (aka Steve Urkel show), Step by Step, 7th Heaven, Whose Line is it Anyway, and several Netflix originals and Stand ups (Noah Trevor and Kevin Hart are my favorites). I recently went through Hercules on dvd, I didn't realize Xena was a spinoff from that show, I just thought they were supposed to be during the same time frame. They grew her character quite well, I didn't like her at first. I’m currently watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (quality program ❤️❤️❤️❤️).

-I am still making friendship bracelets... SMH I know, I'm trying to transition to making book marks instead, I'll actually be able to use them. ——I’ve since branched off to crocheting some of everything (coasters, doilies, blankets, etc) I love Creative Grandma, Jayda In Stitches, The Crochet Crowd, and Fiber Spider on YouTube I’m currently learning Tunisian Crochet 🧶 12-3-20- I’ve gotten pretty good at crochet, knitting, and Tunisian crochet. I’ve made tons of cloths, scarves, afghans and blankets. I’m currently n working on my first storm trooper graphgan. Update: That Storm Trooper graphgan turned out AWESOME!!! Weaving in the ends was the biggest pain. At any rate, I'm thinking of making another but learning to sew... hmmm or maybe just getting someone to sew fabric on the back to cover all the ends.

-I have adult coloring books are in every room (never know when the urge to color will hit). I’m not at all artistic but I love to pretend 😂 I wish I could draw or paint. Update: Still have a bunch of books, pens, and pencils but not coloring very much as of late

-I recently obtained a die cutter and I'm trying to learn paper crafting techniques. Update: Meh, I pull it out once in a blue moon to make envies and embellishments when the mood hits.

-I love unicorns, mermaids, Hello Kitty, Disney, Marvel, pink, purples, and all things girlie Update: Yeah, some things just don't change.😂

-I love yarn of all types, weights, and sizes. My husband is convinced that I have a problem. Lolz 😂 Update: I definitely have a problem. Yarn is my precious and I can never have enough lolz.

-Also, I love tea! Especially, Chai and English Breakfast, but I’m down for trying new ones. Update: I like tea but need coffee! I love trying different types of K-cups. I also drink lots of warm water with True Lemon, True Lime, or True Orange drink mixes in them.

Favorite Swaps

I love the Itty Bitty Stitchery swaps on WIYM. I love receiving everyone's lovely works! I also love the excuse to try making new things. 😂 I like to be surprised but if you're at a loss for what to send I can always use more earrings, necklaces, bracelets, tops (large), hooded cowls, or hats. I'm currently making a pouch for my current swap partner. :D

I also may send thank yous via snail mail in addition to the 5❤️ for above par swappers. 😁 I’ve had some straight into the trash swaps so I like to reward some folks that go above and beyond. You make the duds worthwhile. At any rate, don’t feel obligated to reply. You can if you like but it’s not expected. 😊

If there are ever any issues with my swaps feel free to reach out. I weigh all my envies and generally use correct postage but everyone makes mistakes here and there. I have no problem keeping happy mail happy 😉

Yarny swaps

Yarn hoarding is my favorite hobby. I can never have too much and I keep finding places to put it all 😂 I prefer Acrylic for most things because it’s soo easy to clean but I do dabble in wool. Also, I love cotton for clothes and cleaning projects and chenille for soft blankets and dusters.

I knit, crochet, Tunisian crochet, and macrame and wouldn’t mind participating in personal swaps.

I can never have too many bags or wearables (L). I love swiffer covers and dusters.

Comment: thanks, loved the colors

Comment: Hello, Thanks so much for your package. I especially like the tea to try and the heart stationery. I am looking forward to using those. Also, I like crochet and lace such as crafting decorations and lace dresses/tops, but I do not crochet or knit yet.... I do plan to try in the future to see if it is my cuppa tea. Have a good weekend.
Response: Nice, well I hope you do get to try crochet. It’s my favorite hobby. Knit is fun too but it took a little bit longer and a lot more patience to grasp. Happy swapping!

Comment: Thank you so much!!! Everything was so wonderful!!! I loved the bookmark and the stickers!!!
Response: Thats great! I'm happy to read it 😂
Comment: I never read the author you mentioned! I don't read a book out of order in series. I never seem to catch on who is who. I like the Sister Chick books, but not sure if they are in print anymore. I hope to read more this year. Life is so busy to have quiet time for reading! Thank you for the letter!
Response: You're very welcome, I hope things slow down or you get a chance to steal away quite time.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful pc! Be Well.
Response: You're welcome, Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful Happy Mail!!! I absolutely loved everything! Especially the the amiibos! They are characters I don’t have yet! Thank you! To answer your question: some resins do require a special UV light but u can get them rather cheap. For under $10 on amazon. And then there is other resin that does not require anything but time to cure.
Response: Yay!!! I was hoping I picked ones that weren't going to be dupes! 😂 The resin that just requires time will probably be my first choice. I did a bit more research on it and I think I will wait till the boys are older before I try to start expanding my stitching in that arena.
Comment: Thank you very much for your swap and brightening my mailbox!
Response: You're quite welcome :D
Comment: Thanks for the note, stickers, postcards, and card. I am in another scrapbooking slump. Going to pack stuff away because I'm getting overwhelmed. Maybe when I retire :)
Response: You're welcome 😂
Comment: Thank you for the super fun package. I think I am going to send the "bookmark" to my sister - she'll love it. The little pouch filled with goodies is so nice. Thank you for sending some things from my JAMS. And I love the little extra flowers you made - I think I will make them into earrings. Aloha
Response: Awesomeness! I'm glad you liked your goodies. I really should get some jewelry making tools, those would make excellent earrings. I do so hope your sister likes her bookmark :D
Comment: Thank you for the great postcard. I had not heard of Cedric Jackie Robinson before. I will need to check him out. Thanks Doris
Response: You're very welcome! Yeah, I miss the Steve Harvey Show. I've been on a 90's tv shows kick and I may have to buy that one. I haven't found it streaming anywhere.
Comment: Thanks for accepting al Houses. We are mixed here, I am a Gryffindor, 1 daughter is a Slytherin (A perfect fit) and the other is a Hufflepuff (A great fit for her as well). I agree that there is not enough time for crafting, I need to fix that.
Response: Hope you find more craft time!

Comment: Thanks! I would like to write. Po Box 28715?, Jacksonville, Fl?
Response: Yes and that’s cool, I look forward to hearing from you 👍🏾PO Box 28175 Jax., FL 32226
Comment: Thank you for the nice letter. We had a quiet Christmas, but didn't see extended family. Bible Journaling is usually done by following a devotional. I also collect post cards, too!
Response: That is very nice! I want to better organize mine, I just haven't gotten around to buying the supplies :D I keep spending all my extra cash on yarn!
Comment: Hi Porche! I love your postalette - Cardinals are a favorite, as they always make me think my sweet Mom has come for a visit! Thanksgiving was nice - we FaceTimed with our Son & DIL that live in CO for two hours, felt like 5 minutes - at least to us! LOL! We had the traditional stuff, with me trying to make Smashed Sweet Potatoes but I must have done something wrong, cuz they were more mashed - sigh! LOL! I have take card making classes, a class on using my Cricut, and a few scrapbooking classes - the problem for me, is if I don't keep using the skills, they seem to fade away - getting older and forgetful is not much fun! I do no knit or crochet - I keep saying I want to learn to crochet but I am a hands on learner, so need something to be there to show me and with COVID this year was not the year to have that happen, dang it! Wishing you all the best and please stay safe! Also thank you for joining the swap! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Yay! Those postalettes came in a variety pack, that was a lucky draw on my part lolz. So glad you liked it. Time flies for sure when you're chatting up loved ones. I know the feeling. Mashed sweet potatoes are great so that is still a win in my book. 😂 I wanted a Cricut so bad when I was penpalling more often. However, the price coupled with the potential steep learning curve was quite the deterrent lol 😆 yeah I'm definitely a use it or lose it kinda girl. Awh, I recommend you giving YouTube a try, there are a ton of awesome beginner videos that really simplify both knitting and crochet. You may surprise yourself. Happy Swapping 😍
Comment: This swap is amazing! I love the two bookmarks you made. Thank you so much for everything, even the adorable dog envie you made to send it in. I love the pencil and I think you did a fantastic job!!! Thank you for the belated birthday wishes, also. I hope you and your loves ones stay safe and healthy. We will get through this. Thanks again!!
Response: Yay 😀 I’m glad you liked it! I always strive to keep mail happy lolz 😂 you all take care as well.😁
