Description:

I love cooking, and always see recipe swaps I want to join, but I don't because I don't want to receive recipes I can't use and don't want to feel like I'm being a pain in the ass for asking a partner to only send meatless recipes. If you've looked at the other recipe swaps on this site and thought the same thing, this swap is for you!

This will be a simple swap for vegetarians and vegans who love to cook. Send at least five of your favorite recipes to your partner with a letter telling them your favorite veg'an cookbooks, cookzines, and cooking websites, as well as anything else you'd like to share about veg'an cooking. The recipes can be ones you made up or got from a cookbook, but please give credit if you didn't make it up yourself (that way, if your partner likes it, they can look up the cookbook you got it from and hopefully find more recipes they'll like).

In the comments section, make a note of whether you are an ovo-lacto vegetarian, a vegan, or somewhere in between, and if there are any kinds of recipes you'd rather not receive (i.e. ingredients to avoid, healthy recipes only, etc.). Partners should do their best to honor those requests, but that can be as simple as offering ideas for modifying a recipe that includes ingredients your partner would rather avoid.

Since this swap will be cheap and easy to make and send, it will be international and open to everyone in this group. Send some great recipes and have fun making a new veg'an friend!

I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian, and I don't like hard tofu or fake meat.

Chickpea 03/24/2008 #

I'm 100% vegan, and I also don't like fake meat.

I would prefer vegan recipes, please!

bobilani 03/26/2008 #

Any vegan recipe will be appreciated :)

Hi! I'm new in the group :) & i'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian, so i'd prefer recipes with eggs, milk & cheese. Thanks!~

I'm vegan, but easily veganized ovo-lacto recipes would be okay with me too. Hmm...I hate cabbage, asparagus, & watermelon. :)

Vegan here :)

I'm vegan, and there's basically nothing I don't like. I'm not picky! Recipes with eggs and milk that are easy to veganize are fine with me.

I'm ovo-lacto, but I really enjoy eating vegan, too.

My only food allergy is macadamia nuts, so that probably won't be a problem. Otherwise, I don't particularly like olives (olive oil is fine), mushrooms (except portobellos), baby corn, raisins, or main dishes that are too sweet. Desserts, however, can never be too sweet. :)

I am very new to vegan diet. I used to be a vegetarian if you call it that when I was in college (grilled cheese and salads )

My hubby goes back and forth from vegan to vegetarian.

For various reasons I'd like to switch my entire family (me and my boys) to an almost completely vegan diet.

Not sure exact recipes but I love simple and quick. My boys and hubby hate fake meat and my hubby and I can tolerate tofu only cooked at the local japanese restuarant as we are cooking challenged.

Partner: Don't get all stressed, what you eat is mainly what I am curious to so anything you think would be appropriate is fine.

I'm long winded.

I'm ovo-lacto, but also well versed in vegan cooking so any great recipes would be great! I don't really like faux meat though.

Tofu is my BFF. Thanks!!

dlowewin 04/ 8/2008 #

Vegan please, and no mango

themissiah 04/ 8/2008 #

I eat about 95% vegan, but rarely eat eggs and cheese. I prefer vegan recipes or easily veganized ones. Thanks!

leashingfear 04/ 9/2008 #

In addition to the above, I guess I'll add...I love tofu, seitan, tempeh, and will sometimes use tvp, but don't like the super-processed type of "meat", like hot dogs, store-bought veggie burgers (I make my own), cold-cuts, etc.

lalchee 04/10/2008 #

I'm working on becoming a vegan, so I'd prefer vegan recipes, or lacto-ovo ones that are easy to veganize.

The only veggie foods I hate are melon (except watermelon) and olives (olive oil is perfectly fine).

Tofu, tvp, seitan are all great.
