My name is Melissa. I was born in the year 1981 with my sun in Cancer, moon in Aries and Scorpio rising 15°. I live in Indiana with my husband, son, dog and cat. I write, sew, crochet, garden, cook, craft and play guitar.

My favorite colors are muted shades of purple and green and orange. Actually I like all colors except bold primary colors.

I'm a vegetarian. Please don't send items made of leather or recipes that include animal products of any kind (even fish!).

I LOVE coffee and I like tea. My favorite tea is mint tea. I don't care for fruity herbal teas.

I like dark chocolate. I don't like hard candies. I really dislike caramels and taffy and anything really sticky/chewy though.

I like cute things and pretty things and vintage things. I'm pretty happy!

I practice kitchen and green magic. I read tarot cards professionally. My favorite goddess is Martha Stewart ;) I like crystals, herbs, odd things from nature (seed pods, pinecones, funny sticks). I love Halloween time the best!

I love all kinds of books -- currently The Golden Compass in fiction and A Brief History of Nearly Everything in nonfiction. I read compulsively about writing, haiku and poetry anthologies, French literature in translation and topics in Buddhism and Zen living, tarot and green witchcraft. Perennial favorites include Alice in Wonderland, Jonathon Livingston Seagull, everything by Jane Austen and DH Lawrence.

I really really love and appreciate every genre of music except music where they scream or roar. To try to pick a few would be really ridiculous (seriously, I'll listen to Brittney Spears if I'm in the right mood), but if I weren't happily married, I'd want to have babies with Bruce Springsteen.
