Description:

I keep searching for a swap like this and haven't found one in awhile, so I just decided to start one myself. I made a bag awhile back for a swap and it was my first one. I learned a lot and had a blast making it.

For this swap, you will make one handbag (no smaller than 5x7). Everyone participating in this swap should leave a comment below that says what types of bag they might like to receive, and what colors or patterns they would love to have it made in. This is only a suggestion, but your partner should try to do their best to create your desired bag. Obviously we all have different sewing skills, knowledge, and strengths. Your bag can include a zipper or snap or button, whichever you choose. Please feel free to contact your partner with further questions.

I am making the dates a little far out because I have other engagements and I wanted plenty of time to make the perfect bag!

This is USA only, sorry, but I just can't afford the postage. You are welcome to create an international one. No newbies this time around because of the challenge of making the bag, but you must have a rating of 4.8. If you have any questions, please send me a PM, it is the easiest way to contact me.

The fabrics in the photos are wonderful too. Also love burgundies and reds, even the right greens, the turquoise and brown look is good too. Also am into the non-tacky paisley pattern as of lately. I am usually never without a book or sketchbook, so I would like it to at least fit that and my wallet and datebook (and a few other things). Thanks!

I am pretty easy and I love to share by passing forward to others. I love to recycle & reuse what I have. I use old clothes, levis, leftover quilt pieces etc. to make new things. I have a cute ragtime shoulder bag I made from Fons & Porter to teach a class awhile back that I would love to find a loving home for. I also have a grand daughter here with me who is 7 & loves pink & purple that would love a new purse. She thinks there's never too many shoes & purses just like her mommy.....LOL

I would enjoy most anything. But to make it very useful for me at least 8x10, (this is the smallest size the essentials fit in). I really like shoulder straps and a pocket for my cell phone. (It gets lost in my purse otherwise). I do like bright colors and especially like Heather Bailey's new line of fabric.
