I am expecting twin boys this April! I have a Masters in Art Edu and another in Special education (graduated in August 2010), just waiting for that perfect teaching job to come around. I live in upstate New York... where it's very cold in the winter, and equally hot in the summer. Besides practicing my art I enjoy just about anything outdoors like running, kayaking, hunting, camping, fishing, all of the above. I LOVE cats and have four named Bear, Effie, Lola, and the fourth we call "Big Kitty". I live with my new husband, we have been married since February 19, 2011. He's amazingly optimistic about just about everything and makes me laugh everyday- a rarity in life.
Just a side note: I have a pretty busy hectic life (don't we all?) and sometimes I forget to rate... PLEASE just PM me and let me know! It's no problem and I will rate right away. Along with that, if you have not received a package, please contact me! I always send, it might be late by a day, but I ALWAYS contact you first. I never try to slip a package by, send it late, and not tell you about it! Please respect this by contacting me before you rate me. Thank you!
Eric Church and Brad Paisley are my all time favorite country artists. Country, the blues, a little alternative. Guitar music is good. I even like some of the pop music renditions that are designed for dance clubs. They are great upbeat tunes I listen to when running. Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas, Nickelback, etc. are the right tempo for a run. Easton Corbin, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Reba, Lady Antebellum, Chris Caigle, and the list goes on!~
Author named Sarah Addison Allen, Wally Lamb, T. Greenwood, Alice Sebold, James Patterson, and a new author I have found, Kristen Hannah and A.M. Holmes. Also love how-to books on the arts or anything on art criticism. I subscribe to Fitness magazine and other craft magazines. Anything fitness related, outdoors, baby, or running.
All the crime shows, CSI Vegas and CSI New York, Bones, Cold Case, Medium, Law and Order SVU, Fringe, and Criminal Minds, Cake Boss, Chopped, The Next Iron Chef, The Next Great Baker, Roseanne
LOVE paper-piecing so send any patterns my way! I really enjoy quilting and sewing bags, so I will always welcome fabrics and patterns. I do a lot of metallurgy and jewelry making, I enjoy welding and forging the most. I do use glass beads and semi-precious stones in my jewelry making. I do pen and ink drawings and colored pencil drawings of mostly wildlife. All of these can be seen on my Etsy shop. I quilt as well and I love using batiks and fabrics with bold colors and patterns (but not too tacky). I am working on making a quilt for our bed. We are country people, nothing too cliche on the rustic side though. Used to do ATC's but have branched away from that for now.
I would love to receive the following:
Eye spy fabric squares, any size will do, but our nursery is for twin boys with a nature theme. Favorite fabric colors: jewel-tones in print or solid, batiks, bird prints, prints with little flowers, greens, burgundy, deep red, anything pretty much besides pastels, like bright and bold. Also looking for prints for two girls quilts (purples, yellows, pinks, teal/turquoise/chocolate browns, animal prints)
Lemon scented soap- Paper-piecing patterns- I LOVE BIRDS- gardening items- 100% cotton quilting fabrics - batiks - cat related items (although I only have three cats of the four that will eat treats)- catnip toys- quilt blocks - quilt patterns - slices of geodes- nice stone cabochons - handmade tote bags - art supplies - your old quilting/jewelry making/art magazines - recipes low in calories - cooking related items - baking recipes - unique ideas and techniques you want to share - jewelry - art articles- NuPastels - Art Lessons - love warm socks (my feet are always cold) - earrings are great (no gold), no allergies here, but would appreciate ones that won't blacken my ears (tag sale is fine) - interesting pieces of broken jewelry from tag sales (if you think I can alter it into a piece of artwork) - anything for runners, bikers, kayakers, and even hunters (since I am all of these things!)- coffee
Although these things are lovely, I don't really have a use for them:
Scrapbook related items - ATC related items (used to do them, but not so much anymore) - stickers - kitschy things - big prints on fabrics - plastic canvas - yarn - plastic jewelry or cheap $1 store jewelry- pins -religious items
These are things I wish for! - salt and pepper shakers (mine rusted), something whimsical or funny would be nice - Eye spy squares, any size will do - Instructions on how to sew baby items - perennial seeds - cananula tea (or seeds) - re-usable bags for groceries - paint brushes (foam throw-aways and decorative brushes) - set of rubber spatulas for baking (mine are cheap and not stiff enough) - handmade bag with pockets on the inside. I have one that I am using that I love, but the straps always break. - Handmade soap, any scent- love lemon - Jar/Canning book - Great recipe for low calorie deserts - cute ceramic container (animal?) for the back of sink to hold a sponge (My grandmother used to have a frog with a big wide open mouth) - images of animals or birds from magazines (I stockpile these as drawing inspiration) - good quality paint brushes - patterns for quilt blocks and bags - seam ripper (I think my cat stole mine) - information on making your own clothes, especially skirts

Thank you Crystal for the lovely NFS wish tag package! So many goodies to enjoy!
Received your FQ from the WTA at NFS today - many thanks! That's very pretty vintage style fabric! Thank you so much for the rock chick goodies for my girl. My younger one (whose b'day is today but she's home from school sick) is trying to claim the big iron-on, lol - but I was thinking it'd be an awesome addition to the rock'n'roll quilt - like a centrepiece or something. So we'll see who wins out. Thanks so much for your generosity.
Thanks for the "i wish" sewing tag in the nuts for Sewing Group! The ribbon/fabric will come in handy.
Christmas in May...that's what it felt like at my house last night when I got your wonderful box of goodies! I love the earrings, and will probably wear them to work next week. The fabric you picked is beautiful and I'm gonna play with it and drool over it this weekend. Thank you buddie!
I hope that it was a awesome day
