Description:

This is the May monthly recipe swap--if you have suggestions for future themes, please message me.

We all have recipes that we love to make for a barbeque or picnic, and with the summer season right around the corner from May I thought this was the perfect theme for this month.

For this swap, you will have 3 partners, and you will send each partner 2 different recipes suitable for a picnic or summer barbeque. That's a total of 6 recipes you will need to send out.

You have some flexibility with this one...it can be any category, and any difficulty level. The theme here is summer foods.

The recipes can be computer printed or hand written, but please make sure they are legible. Feel free to include a letter telling about the recipe, or even about yourself, although it's not required.

Those with more than one no send or a rating below 4 will be dropped from the swap. If you have more than one no send with extenuating circumstances and would like to join please contact me before signing up for possible exceptions. Those who have received exceptions in other of my swaps need not explain again, but just drop me a line to remind me.

Newbies, feel free to join in, but make sure your profile is completed.

This is an international swap.

I love new recipes. Especially ones with everyday ingredients. This summer i will be caring for all 8 grandchildren during the day. I need some make ahead and time saving recipes so im not just burgering all of us at night. Love to see what others fix.

No recipes with alcohol for me, please.

Hi!

I'm a newbie (hope that's OK, waves at other swappers) but I do love to cook, and this swap sounds great! The only food I don't like is peas, but I'll try anything else- my Mum always said we weren't allowed to say we didn't like something if we hadn't tried it, and thanks to her I've had more delicious food than I could have imagined. That said, if you happen to have a good recipe involving cheese or potatoes, I'll be a very happy woman.

no peppers (bell or chilli, including powder) in mine pls due to allergy :) Just omitting them usually does ok, unless of course the recipe is stuffed peppers :P

Craftlover10101 04/18/2007 #

I'm sorry but I have to drop out.

agreeing wildly with PurpleSparkler lol...Recipes with cheese n potatoes are the best...and when you combine the two, Yahoo! ;)

joseegert 05/15/2007 #

what size are these recipes suppose to be? 4x6 6x6?

user7747 05/17/2007 #

is it ok to send them on a post card?

user8373 05/18/2007 #

Hi! I'm also a newbie, but I'm really excited to participate. I love to cook (when I have time, which I seem to have less and less of these days), and I love trying new recipes, so this should be great!

I love lostinthesparks' idea of sending them on postcards --that way you can always remember where the recipes came from.

Cloverst 05/19/2007 #

Gosh! Mine would never fit on a postcard!

I've received recipes from these swaps on recipe cards, paper and a dinky little books.

BTW - I'm allergic to peppers. Both bell and chille

Hi all - sorry for not responding to your messages. I'm without internet at home so it's been hard trying to get things done. It doesn't matter what size the recipes cards are on as long as your swap partner can read the recipe. I've received recipes printed out on computer paper that took up a whole page. If you decide to send your 2 recipes on postcards, that should be fine but please make sure that your partner will be able to read them (not in teeny tiny print). :)

Cloverst 05/19/2007 #

Eve, Lisa and Janelle your recipes are on their way from the UK!

LMM 05/19/2007 #

Mine are in envelopes and stamped...they will be on their way Monday morning!

Leenda77, Purple Sparkler, and lostinthesparks - your recipes were put in today's mail. They're coming from France so they could take 1 - 2 weeks to arrive. Enjoy. :)

bluejardiniere 05/23/2007 #

I sent mine to KarenK, Cloverst and NeiceDenise. They are coming from South Carolina, USA. I hope you like them. I didn't see your allergy, Cloverst, until today - but I didn't send anything that would require peppers. :o) I am new and didn't know to check here. I know now!

Cloverst 05/24/2007 #

It's ok most things with peppers can be omitted. Apart from stuffed peppers of course :)
