Hello! 6th of January is Epiphany day here in Finland, so I have to send my item 7th of January.. Please understand =)

Sandi 01/ 5/2009 #

..so the postoffice is closed 6th Jan, forget to mentioned it!

dreamerkins 01/ 5/2009 #

also, if you have the last sign up/drop day be the 5th, you won't be able to assign partners til the 6th. might want to make the send by date the 7th.

LiveTheChaos 01/ 5/2009 #

bah! Why is it closed?? Stupid lazy post people...haha... Ok, so I'll change it to the 7th, but we're still calling it the one-day-swap. Don't tell anyone! haha Thanks guys

If the newbies fail to send, are you willing to angel?

LiveTheChaos 01/ 5/2009 #

Yes, I'll angel this one. Try and have some faith in the little newbies, though. Haha If anyone doesn't get their swap, just let me know.

Franstuff 01/ 5/2009 #

What is angel? Is that like sending something to someone that perhaps a newbie doesn't send to?

LiveTheChaos 01/ 5/2009 #

When somebody signs up for a swap and then doesn't send to their partner, sometimes other people will step in and send to the person that didn't get their package so that they won't be disappointed. That is what angel means.

This is fun! I have to go to the post office tomorrow with a bunch of stuff anyway! I can whip up something in the morning! I can't wait to see what I get in the mail!!

Franstuff 01/ 5/2009 #

Well, I'm a newbie....and if someone in this swap doesn't get their stuff, I'll angel. I have so much stuff!

Rollinx2 01/ 5/2009 #

Hi Hi!! I'm a newbie... just wondering how do we know that we are assigned to a swap partner?? I can't wait to send my 1st swap!!!

wytch6 01/ 5/2009 #

Hi, I am running out of time-we are about 7 hours ahead of you timewise. If I don't get a partner SOON I will have a problem sending out swap within the rules. Please can you allocate my partner as soon as possible.

LiveTheChaos 01/ 6/2009 #

Hey wytch, It's ok, a lot of peoples' post offices are closed today, so they will be sending on/by the 7th. So it was a little technical glitch on my part... I didn't realize the post offices would be closed. You have an extra day to do it, but we're still calling it the one-day swap. lol I'll make sure to check the post office to see if it is open the next time I host a one-day swap.

What is Epiphany day?

Smudge 01/ 7/2009 #

This was a fun swap! Hope you will do it again sometime. I hope my partner likes her gift. :)

MonkeysInk 01/ 7/2009 #

Mine went out in the post this morning - hope that my partner enjoys! (it's going to the UK from Texas to Smudge, so it might take a few days)

Hi Managed to get parcel out this morning. The time zone difference played a big part. I only got my partner early evening of the 6th-yesterday after shops were closed. I really hope my partner likes the things I sent. I did check her profile and tried to send goodies she would like. Luckily I have way too many "things" for one old lady so didn't need to shop.

Epiphany in Finland is celebrated on the 13th day after Christmas, that is January 6th. From the early 1970s until 1991, it was observed on the nearest Saturday.

Food shops were closed for the day, as are banks and post offices. All are open as per normal on Wednesday. Most public transport operated on Sunday schedules.

For me its just a holiday =)
