Description:

I stumbled across the most beautiful pictures on Flickr of button bouquets. I am so in love with these creations that I thought it would be a great swap (especially at this time of year in cold cold Indiana where any kind of flower is appreciated)

You will make 4 button flowers for 1 partner such as the ones in the picture (an image I found on Flickr). I made mine by stringing 2-3 buttons on a long piece of wire that once threaded through the buttons makes a nice "stem". Feel free to add fabric, silk or leather leaves or wrap the stems in floral tape to make them into more realistic looking flowers. Please pm me with questions. I don't have a tutorial but I think it will be pretty simple.

I will check all profiles. No flakers...no recent no sends.

i found a tutorian here that looks good, plus the idea of a salt shaker as the vase is adorable, too. this is definately on my watchlist until it gets closer :-)

here is a cool tutorial, too... they use clear buttons and decorate them with sheet music and words!

Do you mean 3 bouquets as in the picture above or 3 individual flowers, please? This is the first time I've seen this. Neat idea!!

4 individual flowers (made of 2 or more buttons each) to 1 partner. The pic is just an example of how pretty they are when grouped together. Thanks for asking! Great question.

i made a dozen last night, they are so fun and easy! tonight i'm going to try making them with leaves, too... i bought a pair of shakers at the dollar store, and they look so cute! i'm too excited about this swap and am signing up right now :-)

I am too! It has been so fun creating different flowers. I have done bright ones and plain white/creams. I still gravitate towards the creams...so soft and pretty!

Well I think they look lovely, hope i manage to please my partner as i've never made these before, off to hunt out buttons and wire x

Are we allowed to ask our partner what their favoured colours for their flowers are? M x

misumisu22 02/14/2010 #

sure..making it partner based is not a requirement but you can ask if you like.

debbiesw 02/15/2010 #

That's it, I'm hooked. Once I started I couldn't stop and now I have a whole bouquet! I love these cutsies! I have been decorating the stems with ribbon and I can hardly bear to part with them!
