Wonderfully Awesome, I have been looking for a book mark swap. Thank you Darlin' for making this one.

Serenity 06/11/2010 #

P and S... I can't agree more with you about the hearts. They are so easy to give for all the effort someone puts their creation. I wish more folks felt that way.

Okay, I've made one. It's the first one I have ever made. I think it's pretty!

Peanutbutterrhino 06/14/2010 #

Thanks for all the comments!! I love making and trading bookmarks, so I'll keep on hosting this swap as long as the interest is there.. BTW!! If anyone does not receive a bookmark (and I like to believe no one would flake on such an easy swap as this) - Let me know.. I will angel any and all!! I trust that everyone will have fun and be creative & be on time with their mailing!! I love you all!! -jan

boo another no international :( what about us poor canadians eh?

CraftyTweetie 06/15/2010 #

Don't forget, guys and gals, that bookmarks don't necessarily have to be just rectangular in shape. I've seen directioms for some that are triangular in shape that slide over the corner of a few pages. Also, there are some which come in various shapes that have slits cut in them so you can attache them to the edge of a page. Hope that helps to get everyone's creative juices flowing. :)

I can't sign up for this one due to vacation schedule, so I hope you will offer it again. You can never have enough bookmarks! I love homemade, crafty ones. Please let me know if you offer a #3

CharlenesCreativeCloset 06/15/2010 #

I know this is very tacky, but if anyone is looking for blank die cut bookmarks I sell them on etsy as a PIF (pay it forward) item so basically you pay for shipping/handing and the $.20 listing fee. I just joined this swap can't wait!

I know I should do one of these internationally, as it would be soooo costly for shipping.. I will at some point, I promise! And to CraftyTweetie - Great Reminder! All forms of Bookmark are welcome!! Book thongs, Triangles, Fat or skinny... If it can be used as a bookmark, and it's homemade - it's AOK with me!! Just have fun creating - Please!!

And, don't flake..Remember, if there is any problem - contact me.. I will angel anyone who can't send out a bookmark to there partner, and I won't hold it against you!! I know stuff comes up!!

Thank you all for joining! I will absolutely be hosting more of these!!

-Kisses, Jan

As to the remark about not being international: Ya know, a quick search shows of the 480 swaps listed - 370 are international. And of the110 that are regional most of those are open to Canada.

heidijo 06/16/2010 #

I made mine already, its so cute i kinda want to keep it for myself--lol,j/k :-)

PinkInk 06/16/2010 #

This is my first swap and I'm anxious to exchange handmade booksmarks. I love reading those this was the perfect first swap for me.

Do you also enclose a short note when sending your bookmark?

Peanutbutterrhino 06/16/2010 #

I do think it is nice to enclose a little note with any swap.. :)

CraftyTweetie 06/17/2010 #

Oh, I forgot to mention that bookmarks can be made using a variety of mediums...

If you are handy with a needle and thread, why not stitch one up? There are oodles of both pattern books and on-line patterns for small embroidered or counted cross-stitch images which would be perfect for decorating a bookmark. Likewise, I've seen fun and also beautifully delicate bookmarks which have been crocheted or tatted. Or why not make a bookmark out of a collage, Zetti, or Zentangle? If you happen to be skilled at crafting with metal or wood, these are options, too.

The bottom line, is with a bit of creativity almost anything within reason can somehow be fashioned into an interesting and handy bookmark. Just have fun! :)

heidijo 06/17/2010 #

in sending our bookmarks,we might consider using cardboard to pack them or write DO NOT BEND,so no one gets a bent or crumpled book mark--that wouldnt be fun for anyone! okay--happy crafting and swapping!---hedijo
