Hi! I'm 41 years old and live in Lebanon, Pennsylania, USA, with my mom and 2 cats. I'm a graduate of West Chester Univ., where I earned a BA in cultural anthropology, with my main interest being Native Americans. However, I also attended Shippensburg Univ. and the Univ. of Arizona in Tuscon.
I enjoy listening to any type of music that's good music. However, I especially like country-rock, classic rock, and heavy metal/hard rock, as long as it's not overly vulgar or just a bunch of screaming. My favorite singers/groups include Elton John, Billy Joel, Kiss, B.O.C., Dio, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Reba McEntire, The All Night Singers, Tim McGraw, and Trace Adkins. My faviorite musicals are Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Big River.
I use to read a lot more than I do now, but I still enjoy a good gothic horror and sci-fi book and novels with a historical background. My favorite authors include Stephen King, Ann Rice, and Ray Bradbury, plus I recently discovered M.J. Rose, author of The Memorist and The Reincarnationist.
I like a wide variety of movies, but especially enjoy the good ole classic b&w "B" movies, classic and modern horror (as long as it's not just blood and guts and sex), sci-fi, and movies with a historical background. Some of my favorite movies include The Alien & Predator Series, Mission to Mars, Poltergeist (the 1st one), The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, Steel Magnollias, The haunting (bpth the original and remake), The Lion King, and Heavy Metal. Some of my favorite oldies but goodies are The Thing, The Blob, War of the Worlds, The Omen Series, The Thin Man Series, The Day the World Stood Still, Bringing Up Baby, and almost anything starring John Wayne, Betty Davis, Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Boris Carlof, Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Maureen O'Hara, Cary Grant, and Jimmy Stewart.
I have the tv on in the background almost all day long, just like some people listen to the radio. However, I rarely just sit there doing nothing while I watch or listen to it. The type of tv shows which I like to watch are very similar to the type of books and movies I enjoy. Other then sometimes watching Dr. Phil and Oprah, we watch very little reality style shows, like The Bachelor, The Biggest Losser, or Survivor. Despite having access to practically zillions of tv channels, often there doesn't seem to be anything worth watching, esepcially during the daytime hours, so I often resort to watching the good ole classics on AMC, Turner Classics, TV Land, and Si-Fi. My favorite tv shows include CSI Las Vegas, NCIS (original and L.A.), The View, Every Day with Rachael Ray, Paula's (Deen) Home Cooking, Bridezilla, Ace of Cakes, I Love Lucy, The Twilight Zone, Tales From the Dark Side, Ray Bradburry Theater, Las Vegas, The Mentalist, Castle, Simply Quilts, Quincy, The Carol Duval Show, Two Fat Ladies, Antique Road Show, The Bonnie Hunt Show, Dancing with the Stars, and America's Got Talent.
Due to physical limitations, i can only work on small scale, light weight crafts and ones which do not require a lot of strength. However, I have enjoyed doing a wide variety of crafts my entire life, including computer crafts, tea bag folding, origami, card making, sewing by hand and by machine, embroidery, quilling, paper crafts, decopage, calligraphy, small scale macrame, model making, counted cross stitch, crewel work (spelling?), plastic canvas, making collages, quilting, crocheting, and making miniatures. I especially love making crafts from recycled items (a.k.a. trashy treasures), making crafts to be donated to different charities, and working on crafts with my 7 y.o. niece and other children. Two of my all time favorite crafters on tv are Carol Duval, host of the Carol Duval Show, and the host of Simply Quilts.
Tweey Bird!!! (He's my hero! :) LOL!), fun and colorful computer clip art, Friendship Books, cats, antiques, flowers (especially Lilies of the Valley, Mr. Lincoln Rosed, Honeysuckle, Violets, Pansies, Johnny-Jump-Ups, Gerber Daisies, Forsythia, Wysteria, Tulips, Lilacs, Hyacinth, Bleeding Hearts, Pussy Willow), Vlasic brand hot and spicy dill pickles (I eat them like i were pregnant!), wildlife and nature, COKE CLASSIC! (I's a Coke-a-holic!), gothic horror, mythology, anthropology, archaeology, Native American history and crafts, fabric (I'm a fabric-a-holic, too!), pineapple up-side-down cake, dark chocolate, M&M's, kettle cooked potato chips (especially if cooked in lard), stickers, both new and used postage stamps, grapefruit, strawberries, sugar snap peas, carrot cake, cheese, cake
I have a really good, even somewhat warped (in a good way) sense of humor, but please DO NOT send anything overly vulgar, blatantly sexist, homophobic, or simply cruel or nasty. NO scented items like candles, scented sachets, or air fresheners (Mom & I are allergic), black licorise (spelling?), blueberry, or watermelon flavored items, diet sodas or candies (but healthy stuff is welcomed)
