Description:

For this swap we will be fashioning a pincushion from a recycled item such as a bottlecap or cardboard tube from packing tape;that sort of thing. I have never made one of these yet myself;so it'll be a fun challenge and I hope lots of people will want to join and try this out! I'm going to give lots of time to put them together,too,in case our first attempts don't work that well! This will be a USA/Canada only swap.Officers feel free to swap this for your regions. Swappers must have a rating of 4.95 or higher.If you think you might flake-please don't join! The picture is a wonderful little pincushion I got in another swap.It is made from a bottlecap.I love it!

I've been wanting to try a teacup pin cushion. Would that be considered upcycled for this swap?

I would think so. I have made some really cute ones from childrens' teaset cup. Plus the cute little handle is great for adding a ribbon to secure it in a sewing kit.

Absolutely! Upcycling is using anything that had a different original purpose for a new (and better!) one.

One thing that I have found that works well is the top of one of those quarter machine eggs that kids get. It is the perfect size, and it is easy to put on a wristband! Plus, they already come in cool colors!

I've always wanted to try a teacup one. I've seen some lovely ones online. I just got a Van Gogh Espresso set from a junk store that would look awesome as one!
