Description:

I love swapping scarves, and I love stash-diving. So...

For this swap, you will use your favorite method (knit, crochet, or weaving) to create a lovely scarf for your partner.

The rules:

  1. Try to use yarn from your stash! If this isn't possible, then you can use the swap as a good excuse to visit your Local Yarn Shop (don't we always need a good excuse?)

  2. NO 100% acrylic. Let's pick out some nice yarn. (doesn't need to be expensive though--partial acrylic is okay)

  3. Color is chosen from your partner's color preferences, so I'd like each swapper to list in the comments below 3 to 5 color choices.

  4. 4.9 rating and no no-sends (I will angel, but as always assume I won't have to...) Also, you must have logged on within a day or two of partners being assigned, and I'll check on this.

  5. Have at least 5 level 3 swaps that have been rated

  6. Scarf may be simple--ie, all garter stitch--as long as it is made with love and care. Or you can get all complex and do it up! Either way is fine.

  7. Have fun!

I am very easy when it comes to colors! I love bright colors (though not neon) like reds, oranges, pinks. I also love metallic, browns, black, and variegated. Oh, and lavender.

I would be interested in joining this swap, but it's kind of restrictive, in that you HAVE to use yarn in your stash, and yet you have to go with your partner's color choice. I don't have a huge stash, so I very likely won't have every person's favorites in there....

Just thought someone else might be thinking this, too..maybe there are others who aren't joining for this reason as well?

OnceInABlueMoon 09/ 4/2010 #

That's true. Maybe if swappers were encouraged to use from their swap where possible ... or something like that ... for those who don't have huge stashes.

Oops - sorry for double post!

Hi folks! I agree. Originally I was going to say sender's choice colors but some people really hate certain colors. So I will make it TRY to stash dive but not necessary. See corrected rules and I hope you'll join up!

What a fun swap! My favourite/not favourite colours are in my profile. May I just list here that I am EXTREMELY allergic to wool, angora, etc. Can't go near any of it without breaking out in a rash! A 100% acrylic scarf is perfectly fine with me!

leahsimone 09/ 4/2010 #

Okay, we'll keep it in mind! Thanks for joining!

Coolio! My fave colours are autumn colours... pumpkin orange, or deep red, also earthtones - mossy green, any shades of brown/beige. I am not a fan of acrylic. I am a wool-a-holic but love other natural fibres as well - soy or bamboo for example.

Oh!!! I hope I get you OnceInABlueMoon! I have the PERFECT scarf already made for you! (I CAN work with cotton,bamboo,silk,etc.-Just wanted my partner to know they could go ahead and send me an acrylic scarf and I would not mind at all!!) :D

I like many colors and not allergic to anything that I know of. Can't wait I really like scarf.

tessalou 09/11/2010 #

I just want my partner to surprise me. I am not allergic to any type of yarn.

BonsaiMechaGirl 09/13/2010 #

I like pinks and blues, also neutrals, but I am not picky about color. Also I am not picky about fibers as long it is not too scratchy :)

babyamy 09/14/2010 #

I'm open to any colour (except pink) and yarn, but I prefer strong colors to pastel ones.

joshngen 09/17/2010 #

I'm not a pastel person, and I love surprises!
