Description:

For this swap we will make a magic wand for 1 partner. Please make lasting and good quality wands. Embellish in any way you would like. Wand length must be a minimum of 8". You can use clay, wood, metal, etc.

Sign up date to deadline will be one month, put some time and effort into your project, dont make a last minute pipe cleaner wand. Something beautiful and lasting.

Embellish with ribbon, crystals, stones, jewels, charms, etc.

Remember to package your wand securely so that it arrives safely to your partner.

There is no $ amount assigned to the swap as we will be making the wands. Put your hearts and creative energy into it.

Love magic? Fairies? Princesses? Always wanted a wand? Then here is the swap for you!

Aim for hearts by sending extras with your wand. (suggestions) oil, a spell, sage, candles, a crown, extra jewels, fairy wings, fairy dust, a nice bag/decorated box for safe keeping of their new wand, etc.

A card with instructions for the care/cleaning of the wand would be a nice gesture as well since we may be using many different mediums.

Feel free to comment and suggest as to what type of wand you would like to receive, magic, fairy, princess, etc.

US only

Please have atleast 1 postive rating AND a completed profile. Banning will be at the discretion of the coordinator, if any members see a suspicious or untrustworthy sign-up please let me know!

(Remember...give what you would like to receive yourself!)

Also I WILL angel this swap! And that is in no means meant as encouragement for NOT SENDING. However, b/c of the time requirement for the swap, angel wands may not be sent right away, I will do my very best to get them to you as quickly as possible, but b/c of wand preferences, fav. colors, etc. the wands will be custom made for YOU. if the need arises for me to send angel wands, please bear with me I will angel them ASAP.

Those that DONT SEND = No send, No communication, No attempt to fix the problem, NO FUTURE SWAP PARTICIPATION WITH ME! (And will definitely let others know your poor swap history presented here.) Those that CANT SEND = You need to communicate with me ASAP. I repeat, ASAP!! If you cannot complete the swap, you must communicate with me and atleast make an attempt to solve the problem. If no attempt is made you will fall under the NO SEND situation listed above. Life happens and we all know that, but an email simply saying "I cant send for this swap." and nothing further, IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ATTEMPT.

(Sorry about all the red tape for our serious swappers, but I feel I must state these things LOUD and CLEAR. This is a time consuming and challenging swap and I want everyone to enjoy it, both in creating their items and in receiving your items.)

I myself would love to receive a magic wand. crystals, stones, etc (quartz, rose quartz, or lapis would be awesome.)....not fairy princess, ribbons and bows.

Oh, what a shame this is US only :| A wonderful theme!

crayolaskiies 10/ 8/2007 #

I'd love a princess or fairy wand =) Those are probably the wands I'd be the best at making, too.

veterok - yes sorry about the US only. This is my first time hosting, thought it might make it a bit easier to get the hang of it :-) and also because the shipping may become pretty high if it were international. however, feel free to start an international swap if you like, i wouldnt mind. if this one goes well, I will definitely keep hosting the US only version as long as others are interested. Therefor we can build a whole collection of wands.

BTW - picked up some awesome stones for mine today (and my husband now officially thinks i've lost my mind, b/c we were outside of a little eatery having lunch and the porch was landscaped with the most awesome stones, me and my DD sam looked through their landscaping for almost an hour collecting stones LOL so im sure my DH wasnt the only one thinking I was insane).

still got to clean and tumble them, but am super excited to get started making mine.

PS - I hope everyone that participates will be sure and post some photos of all the great wands being swapped.

daffyd1963 - i see in your profile you create wands already, would love to see some of your past work if you have pics up anywhere. What mediums do you usually use?

I think I will be using polymer clay (and natural stones obviously, lol) for mine. saw a great technique that im dying to try with clay. (cant say much more or will give my plans away and spoil the surprise..hehe.)

Anyone else already create wands also?

I am updating/editing the swap as I think of things that may be helpful to those who have never made a wand. So rereading the swap description if you check in might be a good thing. I WILL NOT change any of the basic requirements, so dont worry. Just offering some helpful suggestions for extras, etc. If anyone else has suggestions/etc, let's hear em'.

bast - i loved your water element wand. very lovely in the pics, im sure much more so in actuality! will get pics up of the one im working on as soon as i can.

Not to intrested in Princess but a fae inspired one might suit me as long as it isnt a glittery, pinkish one but more of a natural ribbony one. But I really would love nature craft tied into it. Pretty much anything accept pinkish and glitterish goes for me :)

BastCrystal 10/16/2007 #

I would like a natural type wand too. Clay, metal glass or wood is OK as long as it isn't princess or fairy. Crystals, stones and shells, or bells are nice. I like to use my wands in my rituals and I often leave them on my altar when I am not using them.

I will be happy to make one to the theme my partner wants. :-)

Synuay: Thanks for the compliment! I'm sure everyone will have something nice to share :-)

If you are expecting a wand from brandedeclipse, and haven't received yet, please contact me, her swaps are being angeled due to her illness.
