Description:

I am going to limit this swap at 10 people so that it will be more manageable. We must also have a minimum of 5 participants.

We will each make a booklet by folding 5 8 1/2 X 11" (A4 will work for our international friends) pieces of either 110 lb. cardstock or 90 lb. watercolor paper and sewing it down the middle (by hand or machine). It could also be stapled if you absolutely couldn't sew. Just make sure that the pages fold over neatly.

Holding the booklet closed you will treat it as a fat postcard and do a journal page, collage, or painting on one side and use the other for the address, note and stamps. Apply stickers or small pieces of packing tape to the three open sides for mailing. Each person gets to choose what theme they'd like their book to reflect. For instance: Spells, rituals, Holidays, freeform, your tradition, etc.

Here is a blog post by @Farstarr on how to create the books.

Here is the original swap that I am in that was the inspiration behind this project. =D

Here is the forum post to post any questions, get clarification, and after partners are assigned: keep up with where our books are.

When you get the first mailart zine in the mail, cut open the tape, fold over a page and again treat the booklet as a fat postcard. Try to complete your page and move it along to your partner as soon as possible~~at least within two weeks.

We will all work in each booklet eventually. At the end of the process we will each have our own round robin mailart zine that has traveled far and wide! Note that since we are an international group, you may be sending to the same international partner 10 times. Please do not sign up for the swap if that could pose a problem.

This should be a great time!

Please comment below and on the forum post with what you'd like your book theme to be. =D

Any questions, please post below or on the forum thread & I'll try to answer to the best of my ability. =D

Here This is the one I made for the theme of My Town

Fish This is the one with a water/fish theme

My theme: My Goddess ~ Please put the Goddess that is your patron or that you work closely with. Add any rituals, crafts, artwork, or recipes you associate with her. =D

My theme: Something pagan that is happy/cheerful/bright/pretty/beautiful. Think bunnies, spring, flowers, summer, sun, godesses in pretty dresses and so on. Nothing dark at all please. They are doing MAJOR reconstruction on the appartment building where I live and the other blocks as well, so I have been living in a construction zone since september 2010 and there is still no end in site. I need a bit of cheer.

My Theme: The Wheel of the Year: any poems, rituals, traditions, lore, recipes, and ways you celebrate the Wheel of the Year :-)

My theme will be the elements. Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Spirit. This could be art, spells, poetry, recipes for food, incense whatever you can think of to do with either one or all of the elements. I'm really looking forward to this swap, thanks Oreon :))

So Im assuming that the send-by date is just there because you needed to have one? It sounds like this will be going on a lot longer than to April 1.

Morgaine 03/11/2011 #

I'm thinking the send by date is for the first round, i.e. sending out your own "book" and getting the ball rolling ;-)

My theme: the significance of Nature in your life.

Greenwoodtree 03/12/2011 #

Ahhh! Okay, thanks for clarifying Morgaine - my brain doesnt always process info well :)

My theme: Goddesses, Gods and nature spirits, natural elements involved in all three. Include what you see as most important in connecting with/or for ritual, and if you so desire, correspondences.

Oh, and let me just say I LOVE this.

I have wanted to do a Round Robin Quilt squares for quite awhile too - similar to this, but everyone adds onto a quilt until you receive a finished piece (size not important). I know there was a quilt square series, but I just cant dedicate to a 'series' - for some reason Round Robin seems much more doable!! LOL

I am so excited! I think this will be so much fun & it will be so great to have a little piece of each of you. =D

My theme will be Crone Wisdom-any pictures, rituals, spells, lore, specific crone goddesses, poems, recipes-this can be interpreted fairly broadly. :D
