I am a wife and a mother of 4 beautiful girls ranging in age from 14 to 24. My family are the loves of my life. I recently quit my job at a major finance company so I could work on what really makes me happy. My ART, what else. I can't think of a better way to spend my day then in my artroom. This is my own little sancuary. My art work is sometimes bizzar and my girls think they have a very disturbed mom, but I have to create what I imagine. I often come up with my ideas at that place between awareness and sleep in the morning. I don't know...maybe I have some pretty weird dreams. I love craft "how to" books. I've even had my polymer clay work published in "Artful Ways With Polymer Clay". I would have to say that I am truely addicted to books of all kinds. I feel like books and music have a spiritual nature and can always take me out of this world on a new adventure. I love to be outside. I am very lucky to live in Pennsylvania where we experience all the seasons and can be in the mountains or at the beach within 2 hours. Fall is my favorite season, when the leaves are at their peak color and there is just a bit of crispness in the air. I love to camp and hike. I try to drink in all the sounds and sights around me. I know that God put all this here for my enjoyment and I do my best to take advantage of that. My art work often reflects my organic nature, but I also love fantasy. The worlds of fairies, dragons midevil knights and princesses are often themes in my work. Whatever I make it is with love and there is a piece of me in every piece of it.
I like all kinds of music. My favorites would have to be old school folk/pop and country. James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban, who by the way gets 5 chili peppers from me.
Right now my favorites are the Twilight books which my daughters have insisted that I read. Harry Potter, Wicked Lovely, Poetry by Carol Lynn Pearson, and Nora Roberts books
I like period films, fantasy and good old fashion feel good movies. These are some of my favorites. Tim Burton films, Coraline, Sliding Doors, Everafter, Lord of the Rings, Frequency, Mame (The one with Lucy), and anything with Audrey Hepburn, who is my hero
I don't watch too much TV but I do like to catch Boston Legal (when I think about it), Hell's Kitchen, The History Channel or the Food Network, I also like shows about UFO's and Ghosts.
Ok...here we go. I love polymer clay and am constantly experimenting with it. I also love beading and have enough beads to open my own bead store, but thats still not enough. Another one of my addictions, I just can't stop buying them. I have recently discovered the wonderful world of paper (much to my husband's chagrin). Oh well I tell him, it beats therapy. I'm having so much fun with all my new toys, like glitter spray, inks, stickers, papers, and stamps. I build altered shrines and altered art of all kinds. Lately I've been doing alot of ATC. I like the size of them because I can try different techniques and have a finished piece in a reasonabley short time.
I like really artsy stuff. Altered art, collage, vintage photos, artsy photos, clippings from high fashion magazines, faeries, inks, glossy cardstock, landscapes, stamped images, and bits and pieces of scraps. I also like dark chocolate, gummies, and herbal tea.
I'm not a cutesy kind of girl. Please don't send cartoon farm anamals and things of that nature. I don't like things that are rude or crude. Nudity is ok done tastefully. People who don't send or rate drive me crazy. It's disrespectful. And lastly I don't like sloppy or shoddy work.
