About Me

I'm a mom to 5 boys, age range 3 to 11 yo. My oldest is living on his own, he's 18. My ears are pierced (once) and my socksize is 37/38 (uk 9-10, US 5/5,5 ; according to a card on socks I got).

I love:

  • beautiful pendants
  • scarves (the thinner ones, embroidered ones, not the thick warm knitted winter scarves. To decorate myself, not to keep me warm (^_^) )
  • digital/hybrid scrapbooking (I'm a designer as well as scrapbooker, see my blog)
  • reading
  • chocolate
  • nature/animals. We have 2 Guinea-pigs.
  • sci-fi
  • perfume samples
  • birds (owls, eagles)
  • My fav stone is amethyst.
  • I LOVE (hand)bags/purses!
  • Kawaii, but don't have much yet.

Lately I'm into making softies, so patterns and fabric are welcome!

My Etsy-list is overflowing with;

  • handmade scrapbooking supplies,
  • some jewelry-makers (mostly pandora-style)
  • bath&body.
  • fabric & patterns
  • bento

  • My favorite perfume is L'eau d'Issey... not too sweet, not too heavy. Fresh and fruity is more my thing.

  • Please no angels, skulls, devils or nudity. Or religious pictures. I like Bible-quotes though. Just no pics of God, Jezus, angels or satan.

  • MY BOYS:

  • 11-yo loves fishing, Lego, computer-games and building (tree-)houses with his friends. He loves drawing and is rather good at it too! (and that's not only mom speaking!). He loves dragons, soldiers, military. He has Ehlers-Danlos syndrom (type 3, hypermobility). Loves all colors of the rainbow.

  • My 10-yo loves reading, k'nex, and all kinds of experiments. Likes computer-games and reading too. Has pdd-nos/adhd. Favorite color is yellow.

  • He can't have vanilla/vanilline, so that's almost all chocolate and cookies. It's been reading a lot of labels to find out what he can have! Liqorice, peppermint and gum or gummi-candy is ok.
  • Pearler-beads are also a favorite at the moment. We have lots of regular ones, so any specials are welcome :)
  • Transformers anything... stickers, toys, dvd

  • My 4-yo loves:

  • Brum
  • computer-games
  • to wear caps
  • cars
  • Thomas the Tank-engine
  • Diego and Dora
  • drawing
  • crafting
  • playing in the sandbox
  • riding on his bike
  • playing with friends. Addicted to his Eeyore-blankie, or if he can't find that, to soft burp-clothes. Spares always welcome! Favorite color is green. Except for veggies LOL. He collects key-chains.

  • My 3-yo is a real toddler...Terrible twos went over in terrible threes. He's a very sweet little guy, but if it's not going as he wishes, he gets a Tantrum, with capital T. And that's often. Very strong-willed too. Recently diagnosed too with hypermobility. Gotta love genes...

He loves:

  • Brum
  • Thomas the Tank-engine
  • Dora and Diego
  • playing in the sandbox
  • his brother's bike
  • little cars (doesn't care for the big ones, those little matchbox-cars are his fav). Loves reading too.
  • His favorite color is blue.
  • Crazy about everything Cars (has a fav pillow of McQueen that goes everywhere with him, in the house anyway).
  • Also loves building vehicles, like dumptrucks, cranes etc.

They all love their clogs and one can never have enough Jibbitz (shoe-charms)! They all like dinosaurs, currently they are collecting those found in soaps. And of course they all love stickers!

  • My 49-yo (aka husband) likes cool computer-gadgets, like usb-sticks and stuff, and beer-glasses (the thinner ones, not the big, thick ones).

Favorite Music

  • classic
  • country
  • International
  • easy listening

Favorite Books

  • Sacajawea
  • Harry Potter
  • all kinds of Fantasy
  • detectives/thrillers
  • History real and fiction

Favorite Crafts

  • Scrapbooking, digital as well as hybrid/paper
  • softies
  • sewing
  • altering items (my strangest thing ever was a hubcap)
  • matchboxes
  • dotees
  • atc/inchies
  • VERY basic in knitting
  • sculptures (soapstone, albast)
  • mini-books (accordion, matchbook, tagbook, etc.)
  • hybrid projects (design digitally, print and embellish with real stuff), like boxes, cards/envelopes and covers.

Favorite food/drinks

  • chocolate (absolutely, unfortunately for my silhouette #1), in all forms, liquid and bars, but not too fond of the combo chocolate/cookie (but you'd make my hubby and kids very happy with a twix!)
  • (tuna-)salad
  • cupcakes (love to decorate them mostly, kids eat them)
  • cookies
  • banana-milkshake
  • coffee specialties
  • diet coke
  • apples
  • bananas
  • Surinaams/Indian/Chinese/Japanese (NO sushi!)
  • My 10-yo and 3-yo love to drink tea

Favorite flowers

  • tulip (hey, I'm Dutch!)
  • lilac
  • gardenia

Favorite colors

lime, pink, blue, purple. In that order :). I don't like pastels very much, more the bold side.

Flaked on:

Some others are awaiting to be resent before rating. I hate giving a bad rating before giving a partner a chance, so if you ever happen not to get something from me, please let me know and I'll resend too.

Wishlist

  • Felt in all colors of the rainbow (especially skin-colors!)
  • pretty fabric,
  • Also see Etsy-wishlist, if you have/can do something similar it's great too.
  • I'd love to get some badge-holders, as I can't seem to find them here in Holland. Only those laminating-version, and that's not what I'm looking for.
  • Gingham and grossgrain ribbons, patterned ribbons
  • maple syrup
  • rotary cutter! I can't cut straight, really terrible.
  • prima (like) flowers,
  • rub-ons.
  • Boy scrap-stuff. I LOVE the girly stuff, but I have only boys, so more use for that. Blues, greens, browns, yellow, orange... you get it. I can use girly stuff for cards, which I make too every now and then.
  • puffy- and gel stickers,
  • chipboard. Elements, albums/boxes to alter
  • distressing ink,
  • charms!
  • Oh, and CANDY MELTS, haven't found those either!
  • Food-colors,
  • colors for chocolate (oil-based),
  • I love Bakerella's blog, but can't do half the things that look so adorable there, because I have no idea where to get it here. I mean, pens to write on icing? Never heard of them before I found her blog! I'd love some.
  • Bento Stitch or Mickey Mouse egg-mold (I have the fish/car-set and rabbit/bear-set )
  • other Bento-accessories like cute sauce-bottles, little cups, grass-dividers, cute boxes...
  • Jello! We don't have that here, I'd love some. Please no lemon or lime, any other flavour is perfect!
  • (quilt-)ruler with inches
  • patterns of softies, bags and baby shoes/boots (see my etsy-favs)
  • beautiful beads, and findings that I need to start making jewelry. I love beautiful pendants and bracelets, but can't make them like I want to yet. Instructions are welcome too!
  • lino/stamp-carving kit... have seen great stamps from regular erasers. Looks so cool!
  • In a candy-swap I got a piece of Hershey's Symphony... now I'm dreaming about it every night! I'd love to try another piece again :)
  • bias tape maker
  • small round black brads
  • lollipop sticks (the round white ones)
  • paper strips to make lucky stars. Have some packs in my Etsy-favs, so you can see examples I like there.
  • See "About me" for more of my favs.

Response: It would have been nice if you contacted me first before rating, don't you think. If you're not happy, I could have resent something to you that you perhaps would like better. Now you're not even giving me a chance. By the way, this rating is very late too? My other partner already rated me on Sept. 29 And you listed VALENTINES as a subject, and I sent you a ROSE.

thanks so much for sending the milk flavoring straws! my son just goes nuts for them. :) we haven't ever gotten strawberry and his favorite color seems to be pink, so he was VERY excited about the pink straws!

veltheimia on Nov 12, 2009:

Thanks for the great sticker matchbox I received today. It was packed with the loveliest stickers.

dorsetdumpling on Nov 3, 2009:

Thank you for my Rainbow Swap angel package - loved it all. I am using the lovely pencil with my puzzle book - it has a nice soft lead and a rubber for all my mistakes :). The orange face pads look interesting - we have some very hot weather coming so I am looking forward to lying down with them refreshing me.

lol! hope the kiddy's liked the jell-o. glad all the packets were a nice surprise for you - bon appetit!

Artistic on Oct 7, 2009:

LOL on the leaves. I had to kick myself last week. I tossed out some dusty plastic flowers that were in the house then realized -- Oh, man! I could have washed and used those leaves and blooms for dotees!

I got a lei (fabric flowers) from the dollar store and frequently use those on dotees.
