I am a mom that home schools my kids. I have a wacky sense of humor. My favorite colors are green, red and purple. I like to stay busy and do things with my family. Mostly I do kid-stuff. I guess I kind of collect bears. I prefer real looking bears to teddy bears, but both are OK. My favorite flower is the iris. My philosophy about gardening is; " if it doesn't smell good or you can't eat it, don't plant it!" Iris are just so beautiful that it is OK that they don't smell that much. I am having fun with Swap bot so far. I have enjoyed doing something creative and sharing it with other people. It has inspired me to try any do more. I am finding that the two things that are best about this are the fun of being creative and that I really love giving stuff to other people. I have received some really awesome things from my partners and it is always fun to see what shows up. It makes me sad when people flake; but it makes me much sadder when people don't rate or lie. If you are going to be late sending me something, just message me and let me know. I am flexible and forgiving but I HATE when people lie! And PLEASE, rate me when you get my stuff. 90% of the reason I do swapbot is about sending something to someone else that I hope they will love. It makes me so sad when I don't hear from someone. I have made some great friends here on swapbot and it has been such an inspiration to me to see other people's work. I LOVE the way I am growing!!!! I like to pick people's brains for how they do things, so if you have any good tips on technique or materials, I would love to hear them!!
Please don't send anything crude, off-color or naughty. I am active in my faith and try to keep my mind clean! I don't drink tea or coffee. I don't like things that smell like cigarette smoke.
Jenny the Artist has inspired me to collect anything that has the image of a crying baby on it.
I am always interested in postcards from your area of the world. I especially like any that have a map, or photos of landmarks, traditional clothing, famous buildings, native animals, flowers or other plants. In other words, anything educational. I prefer them stamped with information written on them.
On that note, anything that I can use to teach my children about your area is welcome. I like for them to "experience" what it might be like to live there. So anything that would represent where you live is awesome. Some examples we have received in the past include, comic from the local newspaper, dried cherries, a music CD of traditional music (no burned copies please, I am a stickler about copyright law), brochures from tourist attractions, map of the area, candy from that country. Please feel free to be creative, it does not have to be expensive or difficult to mail, just interesting.
I enjoy making things out of fabric. Dotees, totes, dolls, stuffies, etc.
I enjoy making hand drawn/painted things like ATCs and envelopes.
I have discovered chunky pages and love to make them but I make them VERY chunky.
I am open to doing private swaps with serious swappers with good ratings. I love to make things for other people that will appreciate them.
I like to collect postcards. I use them to teach my children about things. Cards of maps, flags, landmarks or buildings that are famous, people in traditional clothing, State flowers, birds or capitol buildings, or animals are some of our favorites. I love to have information written on them whether they are stamped or mailed in an envelope. Nothing bugs more than a really interesting card but I have no idea what it is or what the relevance is. We LOVE information if you know it!!!

Hey Rebecca - I grew up mostly in Roswell, and we had the paper bag luminarias. I've never seen the fire ones in northern NM - it must be quite a sight. We're going to Roswell for Christmas (my parents are still there).
Did you stock up on dried cherries while you were in A2? It's one of the things we always take when we visit family :^)
Sorry for the late reply. I'm so glad you liked everything! And thank you for sending the postcards too. I definitely still collect map and capitol postcards and try to keep the collection link updated.
Thanks!!
Please accept my invitation as a sign of good cheer and friendship. That is my intention! Thanks! Your friend! Laura
Thank you for the awesome Nebraska map card :D It arrived today! I definitely agree, NE is basically just a huge gigantic flat corn field :P My grandparents live in Lincoln so I've done that drive many many times, heh! I'm glad you had a nice trip and thanks for picking this up for me!
Thanks for the great postcard you send to my boyfriends mom for her birthday!
Many apologies, the pc your son sent got mixed in with mine :/ Tristan is at his grandma's house today so I'll leave it on his bed for when he gets home. Please tell him thanks! Hope you're having a wonderful time!
I forgot to say-another one of my gardening philosophies is.. Sink or swim! LOL! You might be interested in becoming a monarch waystation They give you little tags to mark their wings with so they can be tracked! Thanks for chatting me up! I've enjoyed it! When I'm not so busy I hope we can do a homemade swap or something fun like that. oxo Love, Laura
Our honeysuckle has grown so big and is blooming wildly! I keep the front door open at night and the scent wafting in gives me such sweet dreams! We share the same gardening philosophy! I hope I get the pleasure of having you as a swap partner someday! :) xox Laura
