International mail seems to be a bit slow during the pandemic times. So, please expect my mail to travel up to a month, especially if it needs to go to another continent. Thank you for your understanding!
Hi everyone! My name is Amelie. I am a person in her late 20's who lives in the East of Germany. I am about to graduate from university this winter semester.
For relaxation I enjoy sending postcards to friends and family as well as to strangers. When sending mail I enjoy to decorate them with washi tape and stickers.
Besides postcards, I enjoy penpalling, collecting used stamps, exchanging friendship booklets and sheets, listening to music and reading as well as cooking and exploring new places. Due to the pandemic I have been mostly homebound the past 2 years, though. In my spare time I am learning Lithuanian and Korean. At the moment I am fluent in German and English and learned Latin in high school (due to translating from Latin to German, I only have an intermediate reading comprehension). Besides that I understand basic Spanish and Portuguese.
Besides swap-bot.com, I am a member of bookcrossing and postcrossing (Tera_Ecau on both sites).
I quite like sketch-comedies like "Goodness Gracious Me" and "Little Britain".
Sitcoms: "Alf" & "The Nanny" (yes, i am a bit oldfashioned)
As of documentaries, I happen to look what Arte (a French-German TV broadcaster) tends to upload to youtube. Apart from that I like the report "Mittendrin - Flughafen Frankfurt" (a documentary series on Frankfurt International Airport, broadcasted by Hesse Broadcasting).
Postcards (written & stamped preferred)
Though, I appreciate any other type of stamp, too. :) I just prefer them used, though.
Colours: yellow, blue
A few random things: - washi tape (samples - i always am amazed by the different patterns that exist); - cats; - flower patterns;
I am NOT into anything too political or religious motifs in postcards or similar mail.
Tea: fruit tea, (artificially) flavoured tea (I just prefer it "natural")
A few random things: - pictures/photos by Anne Geddes (and similar); - any sort of discrimination; - the flavours of coffee and liquorice
