Hi! This is Yu Rou from Malaysia. I'm in my 20s, currently residing in KL even though I originate from Kuching, Borneo, land of the Hornbills!
I'm a post-grad student pursuing a Masters in Microbiology, fluent in English, Mandarin (I can understand traditional, but I prefer to write in simplified), and Malay. I can understand the bare basics of French, German and Japanese.
I work in the university, demonstrating labwork for undergraduate students. At the same time, I part-time as a tutor for primary school and secondary school kids.
(Ps, the primary school kids love mail, so if you can, please drop them a card at this address:
Primary 4 & 5 Students

I'm a gender-queer, bisexual Methodist Christian who was raised conservative but turned out liberal.
If you want to write a letter, but don't know what to say, tell me about your craziest ambition, and your weirdest dream. Tell me about your worst and best experience with a friend. Tell me whether you've been to my country and if you liked it or not.
Malaysia is really weird when it comes to mail. I tried to send my friend in the US a badge, but they cut it open and took the badge, leaving only the letter. I will do my best to package things properly so that they can't open and steal things.
Bulky packages have a tendency to be opened and go missing so maybe it'd be better if you send me just tiny little things.
If your mail hasn't arrived after a month, it probably got confiscated by customs here. Let me know and I'll send you another!
I was brought up on Classical but I grew to love swing music and jazz. I'm currently hooked on Oh Wonder and Halsey! I also love Kimbra.
When it comes to Chinese music, I love 韩红 and a lot of æ°‘é—´æŒæ›². I'm also extremely fond of wuxia/ancient style Chinese songs who have lyrics that are full of descriptive imagery.
I love Perfume, Tempura Kidz, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
I enjoy songs by Mother Mother, Second Person, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Currently hooked on the Dresden Files! I am a huge fan of Harry Potter, even though my family thinks it's the work of the Devil. I am not fond of Twilight and 50 shades though.
My fave is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, followed by Spirits Abroad, by Zen Cho. (Seriously that book is a complete hoot, I cried with laughter)
I knit, I sew, I crochet, and I draw. Postgrad life doesn't leave much time for all these nowadays, but I still do my best to leave time for writing short stories, or indulging in scarf-making.
Shows that I really like
* Crimson Peak
* Kingsman: The Secret Service
* Miraculous Ladybug
* One punch man
* Agent Carter
* Welcome to Night Vale
