I'm Beth, I'm 38, and I live with my wonderful husband and three daughters in an adorable New England town right on the MA/NH border. I am first and foremost a SAHM to my girls, Eva and Paige who are 5 year old twins, and Greta, who will be 2 this summer but acts more like a triplet to the other two. They are beautiful and hilarious and I love every minute with them.
I've been an avid quilter for 13 years and love everything about fabric, notions, embellishments...you name it, if it has to do with quilting, I love it and own plenty of it. :) Three years ago I started my own quilt pattern design business after a quilt I made for a friend's daughter from a design I saw in my head turned out, as I thought of it at the time, to be "better than some things I have seen in quilt shops", and with that ego trip I decided to venture into making quilting my business as well as my hobby. I named my business EvaPaige Quilt Designs as I figured those names had worked well for me the first time and might do so again for me. Three years later I have 10 designs on the market and am constantly working on new designs.
My husband and I have been married for 13 years and enjoy travel, wine, home improvement, and following the Minnesota Vikings (he's originally from MN), New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox.
I discovered Swapbot when I was searching the internet for opportunities to make some quilt blocks with people I have never met, and I am amazed by this site. So many fun things to do! The last thing I need is a new obsession, but I think I just found one!
I am currently reading "The Glass Castle" and cannot put it down. What an amazing story of the triumph of the human spirit in the face of such abominable diversity. Also recently adored "Water For Elephants". Historical fiction that has obviously been well researched is my absolute favorite; to that end, the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon is amazing to me.
I'm an Office girl, Dancing with the Stars affecianado, and adore Monday Night Football. How is that for eclectic?
Quilting, sewing
What I especially love for fabrics.....
Blues of all hues, purples of all hues, sage green, cream, black and whites, pinks that are not too pastelly, brights and balis, florals. minkee and minkee mates
What I DO NOT especially love for fabrics....
Country colors and plaids, 30s prints, civil war reproduction type colors and prints, juvenille prints, rusty oranges, pastels
Tea in a beautiful mug, fireworks, riding my bicycle and hearing my toddler squeal for joy from her seat behind me, alone time, reading on the couch snuggled up in a quilt on a rainy night, the first crisp air of fall, watching my girls sleep, a date with my husband
Love me some chocolate of any type, lobster, raspberries, goat cheese, pizza, ice cream, cake with buttercream frosting
I still have a baby tooth, and I didn't get my first cavity until I was 37.
I have serious issues with blue food coloring. It makes me gag to see any kid eating any sort of blue food (cotton candy, gummies, slushees, frosting, ANYTHING). My daughters are so in tune with this that when they have M&Ms, they pour them out, separate the blue ones, and throw them away before eating any other colors. I am so proud. :)
My greatest desire at the moment is to be organized, but I fear it may never happen!
