About Me

Hello!! I am a 28 year old stay-at-home mother of four ages 9, 7, 5,and 3. Three boys and one girl. But we have cable now, so there will be no more. I have been married ten years to my sexy soulmate, Shane. I have a serious sock addiction: stripes, dots, toed, anything crazy from my ankles to over the knee. I LOVE tattoos, skulls, and Roses. I am almost always willing to try new things. My favorite accessories are funky earrings and my kids handmade necklaces (YES, even the macaronie necklace :) I love to quilt, crochet, knit and read. I also do cross-stitch and embroidery. I collect shot glasses, keychains, quilting magazines and of course... FABRIC!!!!! 'Cuz you can never have too many FQs!!

Favorite Music

MUSIC!!!!! I live for music!! You can keep the TV, give me tunes!! Rob Zombie, Seether, System of a Down, Paramore, Squirrel Nut Zippers, The Ting Tings, Enya, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Killers, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Theater of Tragedy...... I could go on forever. I have over 6000 songs on my itunes. So ya, I like music :)

Favorite Books

My Husband would say anything in print but I disagree. All books are NOT created equal! I LOVE the Harry Potter books, except DH, I'm pretending that one doesnt exist. My all time favorite auther is Barbara Michaels, who also writes under the name Elizabeth Peters. I also enjoy Kristen Britain, Anne Rice, Sharron Shinn, Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, and J.V. Jones. I love good mysteries, and fantasy. I also read manga when I can get my hands on it (very hard to find around here) My favorites are MeruPuri, Fruits Basket, Hana Kimi, Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight, and From Far Away (which I havent been able to find at any used book store so I have only read online)

Favorite Movies

Yes I know I said I would rather have tunes..... but that doesnt mean I dont watch TV ever!! Ocassionally my kids let me pick a movie... My all time favorite movie is The Spanish Main a slightly cheesy pirate movie from 1944... IN GLORIOUS TECHNICOLOR!!! What can I say? I have a small obssession with Paul Henreid (mostly his work in the 1940's) Also love Howls Moving Castle, The Labyrinth, All the Harry Potter movies, and Much Ado About Nothing.

Favorite Television

Again....... Yes I do watch TV, just not much. If on the odd chance that I seize control of the remote... I prefer anime or crime shows. Inuyasha, Bleach, Fruits Basket, The Wallflower, Criminal Minds, CSI, House, and Bones. Um... yeah thats it. :)

Favorite Crafts

My favorite craft would have to be quilting. My great grandmother taught me when I was very young. I have worked my way from simple doll size tied block quilts to a king sized double wedding ring quilt for my sisters wedding gift. I love fabric! I try to use diferent textures in my projects. I also try to experiment with a wide spectrum of colors and prints, but my favorites have to be Asian prints, jewel tones, black/white, novelty prints, and pink/brown.

As far as other crafts...... I mentioned some in my about me section, but I also make ATC's, Altered game pieces, I like turning odd whatnots into jewlery, LOVE playing with bottle caps, and making greeting cards (though that I take in spells when inspiration hits)

Swapping Rating and Hearts

First I would like to say, that I will NEVER send anything that I wouldnt be happy to recieve. I try to put a lot of effort and thought into my swaps, and will always look to my partners profile for color preferences, likes and dislikes. As far as hearts.... I dont give hearts based solely on extras. If you want to send extras, its always a great to get a surprise. But I believe hearts should be given for the HEART that was put into the swap. Sometimes it may strike me to put something else in with my swap, I might see something on your profile that inspires me to send you something beyond the swap requirements or maybe I just get really carried away while putting the swap together (I do that sometimes) But sometimes I may not. But everyone will get a well thought out swap, that I personally would love to get :)

Next, I'm really understanding, I know sometimes stuff happens. If for some reason you think you may be late sending, please just let me know! However that doesnt mean tell me you are going to be late and then never send out, thats not right.

And last, I will ALWAYS rate!! And I would apreciate it if you would do the same, nothing sucks more than putting a lot of work into a swap and then never knowing if it reached its destination.

Happy Swapping Everyone!!

Comment: EEEEEEWWWWW! I would give you 5 hearts for this if I could 'cause that has got to be the butt ugliest fabric I have ever seen! I am trying to think if there is anyone in the family that I HAVE to give a Christmas gift to, whom I really do not like at all, as something made from this would be just perfect! Like maybe a bag to put over their head. lol (P.S. Thanks! Hugs, Terry)
Response: HAHAHAHAHA!!! Thats so mean!! :D Can you believe they had a whole BOLT of that stuff! BLEH! Thank you for the heart :)

Comment: LOL--my husband is so used to me squirreling away packaging that he was also amused as I was to see someone else use it as mailing materials too! Kudos for recycling. I have not tried loose tea before but now I have no excuse not too & a nice variety to 'learn' . A thoughtful assortment to enjoy when I kick back to work on the puzzle books. I may share one with my dad since I got him hooked on them too, lol, but then he got me into being tea drinker so fair is fair :) oh, and pretty tissue to recycle-- thanks!
Response: LOL, well I figure the more boxes I use to mail my swaps the less I have to cart to the recycling center at the end of the week! And they can be used many times over! I hope you enjoy the tea! I drink both loose and bagged, though the bagged is mainly when I just dont have the time to brew a pot (or just too lazy lol) I figured you would be able to use the tissue later as well :) Its so versitile in so many projects!! Drives my husband nuts that I save it from all the birthdays, the kids love making "stained glass" pictures with it to give as gifts. I'm glad you liked everyting and thank you for the heart!

Comment: LOVE IT!! I must say, you made yours look much more round than mine did hehe. I was a bad swapper though...I unwound all the goodies first! In my defense I saw the hot chocolate and thought that if there was candy it might melt...hehehe! The yarn is lovely and so soft! You absolutely spoiled me with all the goodies :-D Thank you so much!
Response: Wow! You got that fast!! Dont worry I unwound my goodies too! Its too hard to wait LOL! I'm so glad you liked it though and it was so much fun! Thank you for the heart!

OnyxLight: I have known for years that there are many wonderful people in this world, and a lot of them are right here on Swap-bot. Your kind and generous offer to join a group of special angels --- helping me to make and send a total of 210 handmade ornaments for those who were flaked on in the MEGA Christmas 2009 Ornament Swap --- is VERY much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I can ever do anything to help you out in return, please let me know. (“;) Hugs, Terry
