I'm a native Texan who loves to read and travel. No kids, but have cats, a dog and a bird and I do love my wild bird friends in the backyard. I also like ephemera, postcards, old 35m slides and just old paper in general--I seem to accumulate quite a bit of it. These days I seem to be especially interested in food advertising--old promotional cookbooks, old recipe clippings and handwritten recipes and collections, interesting food labels, etc. I love to garden--both flowers and vegetables. I'm working on planting my vegetable and herb gardens now and my flower beds.
I don't wear jewelry or fuss too much with my hair, so don't need anything related to this or lotions, etc. I'm trying to learn Spanish. I like to cook. I like coffee and not tea, and I don't eat candy. I LOVE to get mail. My favorite postcards are those with recipes on the front from different regions or countries (any language), map postcards, and the state Big Letter postcards. But I like all of them.
Classic Rock, Jimmy Buffett, Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, Classic Country-Western.
I always have a fiction book going, with several non-fictions that I'm browsing through for information or inspiration. Reading is like air to me--must have it. Don't read the mystery genre, sci-fi, horror, westerns, series romance or bodice rippers.
I like lots of movies, but these are the ones I'll watch over and over: Bridges of Madison County, Crash, Out of Africa, About a Boy, Coal Miner's Daughter, Multiplicity, Same Time Next Year.
Seinfeld--no matter which episode or how many times I've seen it--they always make me laugh. I liked the Sopranos and Six Feet Under. Grey's Anatomy, The Shield, Rescue Me, and Army Wives are some of the ones I watch now. Don't care for the Reality Shows.
I like to sew, quilt, find new lives and uses for flea market stuff. I can embroider, cross-stitch and needlepoint but haven't done it for a while. Never got into scrapbooking but have recently discovered ATCs. I like the mixed media collages. Couldn't knit, crochet, draw or paint to save my life. I really am in awe of those who can.
