My name really is Deeno. I'm 55 and was born and raised in Dallas, Texas
There aren't many of us natives left.
We now live in Allen, a suburb northeast of Dallas.
I've had what I call two life changing experiences in my life so far. One good and one not so much. 2013, will begin my 5th year cancer free. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2/08. That year was horrible with a double mastectomy, the chemo and radiation. I had reconstructive surgery 4/10 and had the implants put in 2/17/11.
I was adopted as a newborn and in 2004 was united with my birth mother's side of the family. This was one thing I HAD to do. With the help of some special search angels and my own tracking, I found them. I was so happy to learn of the siblings I had and my medical and ethnic background. That void has been filled for me.
I love children and have 9 nieces and nephews who live nearby,
I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school from K-8th grade. I admit to having issues with the Catholic Church so I don't really practice it any more. I believe in a little bit of a lot of faiths but haven't found one particular denomination. I live by the "Golden Rule", treat others as you would like to be treated, help others in need and be the best person I can be. I don't judge anyone on their religious beliefs and love learning about all kinds of beliefs.
I am very open minded and don't judge people in any way. We are all unique.
I don't work outside the home but do a lot of volunteer work. Our local food pantry, visiting our local nursing home and the animal shelter are my favorites. I also crochet for several charities.

ABOUT MY 2 MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE
My husband is a Network Design Analyst for Dell. I call him "Computer Nerd/Geek". Our personalities are completely opposite. He doesn't like socializing except with his family. He would rather be home watching TV, being on his computer or reading. He's an introvert and I'm an extravert.
Our daughter is very much into fashion. Nobody dresses like her and that's the way she likes it. She's into photography, aquatic biology, and the arts. She loves poetry, reading, drawing & psychology. She's finishing her Freshman year of college and works part time as Manager at Target. We are very proud of our one and only.
I'm a music fanatic. I like all kinds of music except the hard core rap, Opera and Chamber music.
A few of my all time favorite groups are:
The Beatles, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Guess Who & Maroon 5, Elton John, E.L.O. and the Coors. I like some songs by Nelly, Tao Cruz & Usher. I also have a few older country favorites like George Strait, The Judds & Alabama.

Like music, it's hard to choose just a few.
Children Of A Lesser God
Fried Green Tomatoes
Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Steel Magnolias
The Shining
Pay It Forward
The Secret Window
I listen to the TV more than I watch because I'm usually working on some sort of project and not many shows really entertain me or hold my attention.
The Amazing Race (When it's on)
Criminal Minds, NCIS, Sherlock.........
Downton Abbey
Prison Break which we watched on Netflix.
I don't really have a favorite book. There are so many but these are a few of my favorite authors ~ in no particular order except the first one. I LOVE James Patterson! I've been reading books on my Nook that I got for Valentine's Day! WOOT!!
James Patterson
Ann Rule
Mary Higgins Clark
Stephen King
Agatha Christie
I am a self taught calligrapher and had my own business in the past. Now it's just a hobby with a few small jobs here and there.
I used to cross stitch but not as much lately.
I love recycling envelopes and making my own envies.
I've been working on a book called "Wreck This Journal" for about a year. It's so fun!!

I make bubble stationary which I find so entertaining. My husband, for some reason, can't stand the sound of me blowing bubbles with the straw. I have to make it when he's gone to work. I also make matching envelopes.
I love to make Zentangles & host a few swaps. l learning new patterns and techniques.

Someday, I'd like to learn to knit.
I like trying any new crafts at least once.
I love nature and being outside. I find the outdoors to be very relaxing. Hearing the birds, feeling the wind, looking up at the clouds, the flowers........and on and on..........Happy & relaxing.
Gardening is another way of relaxation for me. Planting new flowers, trimming bushes or pulling weeds makes me happy.
My favorite place to be is the beach. I've been going to the beach at least once every summer since I was 4.
I love the sounds of the ocean and birds, and feeling the sun and the sand.
I love animals of all kinds. Currently, we have
one cat, Sheba. who's 13 years old but still acts like a kitten. We adopted a little white boy kitten, Buddy, on April 11, 2011
(who looks just like this one) LOL! and this sweet buff and white little girl kitten
(which we found out is really a boy...oops) on July 24, 2011 named Lucy. Buddy loves her/him! We have a wild bunny living in our backyard and I feed the birds and squirrels everyday.
My favorite animals in the wild are:
meerkats
So cute and dedicated to their clan.
They always look so happy!
So Strong and Beautiful!
My favorite colors:
I usually wear blues, greens, red (bright colors) I also like all shades of purple. I really like all colors except I'm not much for pastels and don't like pink unless it's HOT Pink.
Other Misc. Stuff
I am re-learning the guitar. I play drums and piano.
I love love, love to take pictures. I carry my small digital everywhere just in case.
I've been referred to as a Free Spirit
Mother Earth
and
An Old Hippy

All describe my personality pretty well. I can be very spontaneous at times, very outgoing, easy going, easy to talk to, a good listener and just enjoy being me regardless of what other people think.

Well......it finally happened. I got FLAKED on for the first time!!!! The Flaker was abd el lah abbed (swapbotalgeria)
Please don't tag or send or swap with any member with the last part of their swap name being "Algeria". There are pages and pages on the main forum about this one having all kinds of different aliases but they all come back to Algeria address.
