About Me

Hi there!

I'm Lindsey, 24 years old, from The Netherlands. Two years ago I graduated, so now I'm a teacher on a primary school. I am also the mother of a beautiful German shepherd dog.

In my spare time I take a lot of photos. Not selfies, but I like to photograph landscapes and sunsets. I love nature: flowers, trees and even clouds! I've an Instagram account where I share photos.

I also love to travel! If traveling was free you'd never see me again. I've already been to London, Dublin, Rome, Krakow and some other places. I love meeting new countries and cultures. Swap-bot is also an opportunity for me to learn about other countries. Places / Countries that are now at the top of my travel list are:

  • Edinburgh

  • Copenhagen

  • Australia

  • New Zealand

I love Bullet Journaling and being creative. Recently I started to embroider!

I'm new here, but I'm very exciting about it!

Favorite Books

I love reading! Especially Young Adult books. My favorite books are:

  • Pride and Prejudice

  • Harry Potter

  • The books of Sarah J Maas (Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses)

  • Game of Thrones (Yes, I have read the books!)

  • Lockwood & Co

  • Outlander

Favorite Movies

I'm Netflix-addicted. My favourite series are: * La Casa de Papel

  • Sabrina The Teenage Witch

  • The Alienist

  • Sense8

  • Modern Family (Always makes me laugh)

  • Dicte

  • The Musketeers (BBC version)

  • Marseille

  • Black Orphan

  • Vera (The detective)

  • Sherlock (BBC Version) (I'm Sherlocked)

Series are the BEST, but I also love some movies: * Pride and Prejudice. That one with Keira Knightley. * HARRY POTTER

I would like to learn more about other countries and cultures. So I would love to receive mail that includes a little story, something about yourself or just a short sentence in your native language!

About other things I love:

*My favorite colour is yellow. 'Sunset-yellow' actually. Do you know what I mean? Hahaha

*I'm totally into the galaxy theme and the 'world/travel' theme. But I'm also into leaves and planets (botanical/nature theme).

*I'm also in love with animals: red pandas, dogs, horses AND unicorns!! Yes, that is an animal.

*I like old things. Old postcards, postage stamps, old books (paper), also things that are new but looks old haha!

But actually.. I will like most things I could use in my Bullet Journal! I love surprises!

I like 'naked' postcards (not in an envelope) the most. But it's also okay if it's in an envelope (I do actually love Christmas cards that are in a envelope!).

I would love to receive postcards that display:

  • your town/area (or some other place in de the world)

  • animals like red pandas, horses, dogs, wolves and foxes. (no cats please)

  • nature (forest/mountains/northern light/sunset)

  • greetings from... cards

  • cards with bright, vivid colours

  • yellow

  • fantasy

  • galaxy theme

  • books

  • history

  • cards for my birthday (in June)

  • castles

  • mermaids

  • fairies

  • Harry Potter

I also like to be surprised!

I don't like cats. They don't like me either. Sorry haha!

And I would prefer not to receive religious things.

Comment: Thank you for the boring postcard and your nice note. I like the design but the colors could be brighter. This week temps are finally above 10°C most of the day so I can work in the garden. Summer is lovely here in Minnesota, though we are slathered with mosquito repellant when we go out.
Response: Thank you for your rating! Happy swapping!

Comment: Thanks for your postcard :). I don’t have my own cats yet, I plan to get two of them either with adoption or purchase, but I would prefer to adopt. Since moving from my parents house and leaving their cats behind with them, I’ve missed them terribly. Once renovations are done though, it will be safe to bring them in the house :)
Response: Happy swapping!

Response: Happy you loved it! Happy swapping.
Comment: Thanks so much for the lovely spring postcard with the daisies. Just gorgeous! I just finished a good book called "Under the Same Sky" by Genevieve Graham, a Canadian author I really like. She writes historical fiction and I really like her Canadian stories. Canadian history is actually interesting and not as boring as it seemed when we studied it at school. LOL! Happy Spring and Happy Reading and Letter Writing! Cathy/Writercat

“Thanks,” I said. Creepy, creepy, creepy. I didn’t add that he smelled like meat. Not that I could. Apparently, choking helped me keep my mouth shut and mind my manners.

-Lish McBride, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer

Book quote, September

"My stomach broke into pieces and spun like a kaleidoscope. Dimly I saw my hand reaching toward it, lifting it to my nose. Cheap ink and old paper. It felt hot, but my arms prickled with goosebumps. I ripped it open."

The Hazel Wood, Melissa Albert
