My name is Jacki and happy to swap with you!
I live in Michigan. I am a lifelong learner and work in education. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I value kindness, diversity, equality, justice, the earth, animals, good books, and a hot cup of tea. I enjoy time with friends and family, but also need alone time every day for sanity. I am trying to simplify and adopt a more minimalist approach but find it most challenging in terms of fabric and swapping supplies!
I enjoy making decorated envies and putting together little packages and RAKs. I’m not super crafty, but will try easy paper crafts now and then.
I love to sew/quilt and make pillowcases, place mats, table runners, quilts, bags, etc. Message me if interested in a private swap for handmade items.
I am trying to downsize my paper craft supplies. If you have me as a swap partner, follow swap guidelines but feel free to keep it minimal. No need to send many extras, if any at all. Leaving out extras will never impact your rating/heart from me.
FAVORITE THEMES - floral, botanical, nature, bicycles, artsy, earth friendly, female celebrative and encouragement, books, languages, tea and accessories, animals, watercolor. I prefer artistic over realistic images.
POSTAGE - unused
CHATTY LETTER - with no obligation to write back - write about anything, no topic off-limits.
GREETING CARDS - I participate in a group that sends cards to seniors, many of whom are in care facilities, and am always in need of age-appropriate Birthday, Thinking of You, Get Well, Sympathy or blank cards. (Please no holiday or other types of cards.)
TEA (sealed) - black, green, white. Do not care for herbal, fruity, rooibos. My current favs are Numi English Breakfast Blend and Organic India Tulsi Chai Masala. Always on the hunt for Qualitea Earl Grey (Sri Lanka) or Keisarin Morsian (Finland). One of the only fruity teas I enjoy is Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry which I use for iced tea all summer long – yum!
HANDMADE - anything handmade in any medium is a real treasure. (will private swap for homemade things any time!)
PATTERNS – if you sew or quilt (no clothing) would love an easy-intermediate pattern for a project you’d recommend
SOCKS - fuzzy no-slip – I wear them every day in the house
VICKS INHALERS - use these inhaler sticks to pep me up when I need a lift
EDIBLES - for food-based swaps - milk chocolate (not a fan of dark) with nuts or crunchy bits, Fry's Turkish Delight (UK), fizzy or effervescent candies like Love Hearts (UK) or Sadex Brause (Germany), sugar free gum, salty snacks. Prefer vegetarian (no meat, gelatin, or lard -- milk and eggs are fine) but don't worry too much about that - if you send something I do not eat, I will happily share with friends! I drink tea (see preferences above), hot coco, but not a fan of coffee (unless it is iced).
Items that land in my recycling bin are childish, Disney, fantasy, mythical, celebrities, fandom, fashion, sports, religious or spirituality (angels, Bible verses, goddesses, tarot cards, astrology, etc).
Unless specified in the swap description, please do not send traveling items (friendship books, slams), random scraps of paper, memo sheets, dollar store items, touristy items, beauty products, jewelry, used postage, postcards, ATCs.
Most swappers are good people with good intentions. I will not look for reasons to down-rate and can be very understanding when things do not go as planned. I presume positive intent and give the benefit of doubt whenever possible. Communicating solves a world of problems - if you mess up on a swap, just message me, and chances are it will be fine. If I mess up, I will do everything I can to fix it to your satisfaction. "Be kinder than necessary." JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan
