Hello and welcome! My name is Deborah, but go by Debbie or Deb. I am married to the love of my life that actually supports all that I do, be it shopping online for craft supplies to being my parents caregiver! It’s been a trying year on us with him staying at our home in Kansas & me here in Texas. But in just a couple of months he will be retiring & moving here. I’m a mom to 2 daughters (2 son-in-laws), a Mimi to 6 grandkids (1 grand-daughter-in-law) and 2 precious GREAT grand children (boy & girl). And a mom to one fur baby Skeeter, a Chihuahua-Italian Greyhound mix. He’s ROTTEN! But he has been a real emotional support this year. I am my parents main caregiver. Mom has Alzheimer's & dad has Parkinson's. Mom was put on Hospice in May & is in the final stage. I'm glad I have got to spend the time with mom. Because now she no longer knows who I am. There are some days I think she knows me. We can have a week of good days and then a few bad days are thrown in. It is the hardest, saddest, thing I have ever had to face in my life. But, I am getting thru it! That is why I came back to Swap-bot. I needed some sort of crafting outlet. I have a couple hours of "free time" during the day that I can actually call me time. I do love my crafting.
I left swap-bot nearly 3 years ago. I Flaked & had a 1. I wasn't proud of it. It has bugged me all the time I was gone. I contacted her to make swap up. It shows from tracking # it was received. She has received the swap & re-rated me. I will keep the 3 to remind me that sometimes life gets me down, but in the end I know to get up, dust myself off and keep going
We live in rural area. I am only able to leave the house once a week when I have someone to come sit with mom & dad. So I have bought a postal scale & stocked up on stamps. And if I'm in doubt on amount I will add extra stamps. So if EVER you get postage due from me please please let me know & I will send you stamps to cover. I will put my swap in the mailbox in the mornings, mail runs between noon & 3pm. I will not mark sent until any swaps have been picked up by postal carrier. I keep track of my swaps when I send & start worrying after about a week when they are being sent in US. You may get a message from me when I feel like it's been an ample amount of time to arrive just checking with you. That way I can start on a resend. I rate as I open my swaps the day they arrive. If I haven't rated you, please contact me. It either means I got sidetracked with caring for my mom or it hasn't arrived. Ratings are important to all of us. I ask the same from you upon receiving from me. Thanks.
As I finish my swaps I will upload pictures to my Flickr account. So if you want to be surprised don't peek. But I would like any and all comments on pictures.
