Hello, my name is Kathy. I am a 48 year old married mother of two teens. We have a French bulldog named Chuck, and two Gecko lizards...Janet and Lizzie. I enjoy my wonderful family!
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am an accountant and about to start a new job after nearly twenty years at my previous workplace.
My focus word for 2019 is COMMIT. I have lots of plans and lots of ideas, this year it is time for me to commit to executing some of these ideas.
(Keeping this here as I'm still working on it: My focus word for 2018 is COURAGE. I've had some difficult family health issues over the past year and a half, and it has been really hard for me to deal with them. This year, in 2018, my goal is to have the courage to accept and deal with these circumstances the best that I can. I need to begin the healing process and set a good example for my daughters.)

I like mysteries a lot, I am currently reading Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series.
I get most of the books for my to-be-read list from the podcast What Should I Read Next. If you haven't listed to this podcast I would highly recommend it, it is lots of fun.
I wouldn't consider myself a fan of sci-fi or fantasy, but after watching Game of Thrones I have begun to read the series. I am currently on the first book.
Books I've read and enjoyed (that I can think of right now): Jayber Crow by Wendell Berry; Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann; Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel; The Dry by Jane Harper; We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
