my journal / snail mail instagram
My name is Lindsey, & I'm a college student living in lovely Western Michigan! The school I attend is less than five minutes from my house - so I commute back and forth daily to save lots of money.
As of right now I plan to apply to my college's social work program this fall, and if I'm accepted, that will be my official major/area of study!
I've been penpalling & writing letters for years, since I was maybe around twelve, my first penpal was a lovely gal from England, we shared a lot of the same music tastes!!
It has always brought such joy to my life to receive physical "snail mail!" Everything I get in the mail (especially through this site) is special to me and brings a smile to my face!
I hope that the mail I send out through this site will do the same for others!
IMPORTANT: if you happen to not receive a swap from me, PLEASE message me before rating and I will always be willing to resend! I will always send on time and make sure it has correct postage, but do understand that sometimes mail can get lost! Please let me know if there are any issues!!
stickers (flakes or sheets) & lately I have been loving patterned stickers, map/atlas stickers, and mail themed stickers.
flipbooks! I love receiving handmade flipbooks, even if they don't have a theme! Feel free to tuck whatever you want/think I would like into the pockets!
mini envelopes / glassine envelopes for pen pal goodies. I really love handmade envelopes! I am starting to get more into creating them myself as well! I use the We Are Memory Keepers envelope punch board.
old fashioned looking washi tape (old postage, music notes, old writing)
scraps of paper to use in my journals my favorites are anything old fashioned, kraft paper (brown), card-stock, floral, or light hues of color, espeically yellow and lavender. Please don't send super small pieces though!
die cuts (smaller shapes, flowers)
letter sets preferably lined, no need for matching envelopes though.
project life/journal pocket cards I really love the ones with quotes or motivational words.
POSTCARDS!! lately I’ve been really into new postcards, especially with art / botanical images! I also love almost all touristy postcards!
anything made by you! I love to see other people's creations! I will never rate down for crafty items handmade by you, everyone has their own talents and varying abilities! I hope you will do the same for me.
vintage postage stamps! if anyone is interested in swapping I have begun collecting quite a variety of vintage US postage stamps - just send me a message! My favorites are usually anything floral/social event themed.
honestly i am not very picky so i’ll probably love anything i receive, but if you’re looking for ideas this is a great place to start!!
I have a very diverse music taste - I like anything from pop to alternative. I do catch myself listening to more of the music that isn't from "my time" as I really like older 1980's bands that I've dug up from my dad's collection and fallen in love with myself!
For new music...
... can you tell that my favorite genre is romantic-comedy & I really love cheesy 1980's chick flicks??
anything handmade by you
personalized things!! anything with my name on it!
inspiring quotes written on other mediums (pretty paper, journal cards, postcards)
bullet journal supplies (small stickers, floral washi)
personalized address labels
I mark sent when I drop my swaps into the blue post office bins. Most often I do this before the pickup time so they will go out on that same day.
I will strive to always rate the same day I receive your package/PC. As long as you follow swap guidelines you will receive a 5. Even adding just a little bit of an extra touch will get you a heart! I’m very easy to impress so a little effort will go a long way. Please message me if you're running late on getting a swap sent out. As long as I hear from you beforehand, you will still receive a 5 if you followed swap guidelines!!
I will try my best to add personal touches to my swaps, whether it’s something mentioned from your profile or a common interest or a cute sticker or two on your PC. I’m thankful for anything I receive through swapbot.
I will always be open to adjust ratings if you message me and are willing to work things out. I know life gets in the way sometimes and no one is perfect, just please be open to talking about what happened and I will be happy to adjust my rating if I feel that is the right thing to do! This site is above everything else supposed to spread joy and kindness through the act of sending physical mail, I want my account (especially) to be treating people with the same kindness I would also like to receive!
