About Me

picture title!

AHEM>>MILITARY MAIL IS SLOW. I promise to rate you as I receive it, just be patient.

I am a master at self proclamation... I am an artist. A poet. A believer.
Yes, I am weird. Yes, I might be insane. But, life sure is fun. I am a Cancer. I am an optimist. I am extremely open minded. I am currently 24, and in The United States Navy. I'm making sacrifices for my future family, and because I want to do the expensive art school bit. I have only been married to my longest crush for a year now, hoping to someday reach a 50th anniversary. I am heavily opinionated. I am not shy, just quiet and reserved until you get to know me. I am not into politics because there isn't a party that I agree with 100%. I can't classify who or what I am into a specific religion. I hate labels.

I draw. I paint. My hands hate being idle. I make bracelets, I sew, I collage. I take pictures. I love mixing it all together. I am open to making new crafts. I keep art journals, but I've always called them "Bookies"! I like trying new techniques and styles in my art. I like to constantly improve and play. Someday I hope I am able to break away from my pages and do all kinds of art...sculpture, large canvas, statement art.

I LOVE mixed media art and altered art. Mail art, such as decorated envelopes and packages.

Mail Stuff..!

I really like mail. I like to paint and glue and draw on the envelopes and packages I mail out. Mail art thrills me, especially when I receive it. I like to keep any cool postage stamps I get. I collect them on stamp pages in my bookies. I am clueless as to what Kawaii is. And, most other things here on swap-bot. I've never gotten a friendship book, but I am curious about them. I am also curious about the artsy matchbox things.

~~~ I do sometimes reuse the envelopes and boxes I get. I like to paint, draw or collage over them... so you will probably get something recycled but very colorful from me!~~~~~
Other things I like to mail and receive: handmade and cute postcards, scraps and ephemera for art journal pages, ATC's, letters to pen-pals. Poetry. If I get a zine, I will read it a few times, and then mail it to someone else. Mix tapes, mix cd's. bracelets. journals. I like passing art journals back and forth.
~~I DON'T scrapbook, I DO art journal. I am open to crafting new things like matchboxes and little dolls, though I have never done so before.~~~
Comment: Thanks. I think we def had miscommunication on this swap...but its cool. Lol I love the elephant stamp. Hope you liked yours.
Response: Yes, and that is my fault. I wasn't very descriptive. Oh well, the whole point of the swap was to help bump up your ratings. If you sent me a blank piece of paper, I would give you a heart. I haven't received mine yet, because military mail is slower. I'm glad you liked the little elephant.
Comment: Thank you for your email journal! I think it is interesting that you dream about teeth...apparently they refer to our "ability to get what we want" such as our level of articulation or our social appearance. What do you think?
Response: That's believable. Maybe in more of the way that I go after what I want in life. I've heard many interpretations though.
I've seen a couple of Willowing's videos on art journaling. I'll be sure to check out the link you sent. Thanks :-) Oh, and thank you for the comment on my baby. I agree on both, especially Megan Fox. She's just there to look pretty and can't act all, it's annoying.
Also, do you just read Charles Bukowski poetry or do you read his novels too? My boyfriend likes his poetry so I thought I would try reading something of his, I started to read Women and it wasn't exactly..the best ever,ha. So, can you suggest something from him that might be a bit better?
Naoya on Oct 20, 2009:
Sweetie, from what I can tell, your art is very alternative. I think that people would love your atcs.
DangerousMoustache on Oct 20, 2009:
i make some on priority mail stickers and then seal them with modge podge... and then I draw some on drawing paper seal them with clear vinyl and run them through a sticker machine..
girlpirate on Oct 20, 2009:
I dropped it (probably temporarily) because I needed to slip out of a couple of time consuming projects for right now. I'll probably pick it up again before the deadline, but I just wanted to see how far ahead I get today. I only have one day a week off to tend to swaps so I am very careful about making sure I have time for all my obligations. :)
Naoya on Oct 19, 2009:
Okiedoke. Go have a look at my flickr(link on my profile) :) I uploaded some received and some of mine. You're an artist! Just do your thing, girl! Let your creativity run wild!
