About Me

10/10/20 - I'm ready to come back to swap-bot and excited to visit with some old friends and meet some new ones!

8/5/20 - Taking a break from swapping. I've sent out all swaps that I'm registered for, will rate when I receive from my partner(s) and always thank partners that leave a rating. I am no longer tracking down ratings. If I haven't received a rating from you and you haven't contacted me to let me know that you never received the swap from me, I'm assuming that you did receive it, but either forgot to rate or don't rate partners. I always send swaps out the day that partners are assigned, or the next day.

About Me: I've been married for 43 years and have 2 married daughters, 1 granddaughter (13) and 3 grandsons (one 16 & 6 year old twins). I am recently retired, enjoy spending more time with family and watching the grandkids grow!

I transplanted from Montana to the Pacific Northwest 35+ years ago and have never regretted it. Can't beat being a couple of hours away from the mountains, the beach or the 'big city' although I do miss the slower living of Montana.

I'm a Seattle Sounders fan and enjoy going to their matches, when we could go into the stadiums. Go Sounders!

Favorite Crafts

I love making cards, and other paper crafts, cross stitching and sewing. I enjoy learning from other crafters and seeing their creations.

Over the past years I've been 'collecting' paper crafting supplies and fabric to use when I retired. I'm not at hoarder status yet, but could be close! It's been fun trying to use some supplies that I've had stashed away but never tried before. I would like new ideas to spark my creativity and to see what's new in the crafting world.

In the past I was a SU! demonstrator which built up my stamping collection. I also was a part of Operation Write Home until they dissolved. I enjoyed making cards for the troops and miss having that purpose and connection.

I like to collect recipes and occasionally try them out. I've made several family cookbooks for family reunions.

Favorite Television

I watch lots of movies and tv but I'm usually working on cards or another project while I'm watching (or else I fall asleep!) I'm always looking for a new series to watch. Any suggestions? A few of my favorites are: ~ Outlander, ~ Grey's Anatomy, ~ The Man in the High Castle, ~ Marvelous Mrs. Maizel, ~ Better Call Saul, ~ This is Us, ~ The Masked Singer, ~ Survior, ~ Downton Abbey, ~ Call the Midwife, ~ Modern Family, ~ and the list goes on, and on, and on!

About Me

I enjoy learning about different cultures and countries, and connecting with others. I wish to someday do more traveling.

My favorite colors are purples, blues and greens, but would enjoy any color.

Other favorites are dragonflies, hearts and angels.

I'm allergic to cinnamon, cloves, ginger, basically all of the fall flavors. Unfortunately, no pumpkin spice lattes, spiced teas or spice scented candles for me!

Favorite crafting tools

My crafting likes but I'm open to anything new in the crafting world:

~ Paper! Paper! Paper!, ~ Washi, ~ Quotes, sayings, angel words, ~ Ribbons, Wink of Stella Glitter Brushes, ~ Rub ons, ~ Stamps, ~ Rhinestones, gems for paper crafting, ~ Raised elements.

I prefer naked PCs, love that stamped piece of mail. Although I like to collect state PCs, I also like to get a PC that you like so I can learn more about you. No nudity please.

Postage and no shows

If you do not receive something from me, please contact me and I will resend. I understand that all post offices are different, have different hours, some even different days that they work, especially the smaller rural towns. And they misplace things. If you receive something from me with postage due, please let me know and I will more than make it up to you. I can't always get to the post office so use a scale and USPS.com to figure out postage rates and may sometimes not get it right.

I've always believed that health and family are the most important pieces of our lives. So if you are going to be late, please send me a message so I know when to be looking for your item.

I would appreciate if you would give me a chance to make it right and I will do the same for you.

Happy swapping!

I love making cards, sending cards and RAK. Maybe you'll find a surprise in your mailbox one day!

Comment: Thanks Diana! I tried to use the google translate app to figure out what the postcard said and it was something about immortality? I'm not sure if that's right lol.
Comment: Thank you. I hope you are safe. I like the postcard. It made me think of Oregon.
Response: You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the rating!

Comment: Thank you very much for your lovely note (such a pretty note card!) and the little extras -- including the lovely stamps. When I lived in Seattle, I started in Phinney Ridge and later lived in Capitol Hill and the International District. Have a wonderful weekend.
Response: You are welcome! We took our grandson to to play basketball in the International District, many years ago. Had to go to Uwajimya while we were there. Had a good time checking things out. Have a wonderful weekend, too and thakn you for the rating and heart!

Comment: Hi Diana! Thanks for the share about your weekend - it sounds busy and congrats on your win! That is always fun! Wishing you all the best and please stay safe! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: You are welcome. Thanks for listening! I won 2 packs of 12x12 Ken Oliver paper. I won 6x6 Ken Oliver paper before, so not have a different variety. Stay safe and thank you for the rating and heart!
Comment: Thanks so much for the great post! Our school returned from winter break with a ‘4 day in-person learning & one remote’. Crazy times!! Glad to hear you are well & thanks again for the swap. Best wishes. 🙂
Response: You are welcome! I hope it works out for your schools. Ours start 'hybrid' on Tuesday. The state lumped school sports in with the bars/funerals/weddings groups for some reason, so we'll see what happens there. Take care and thanks for the rating and heart!
Comment: Thank you for the great Mt. Rushmore postcard. I think this is the first one that I have ever received in all of my time swapping,.
Response: You are welcome! I'm glad that you didn't have the Mt. Rushmore pc yet. I swap with you so often, I'm always afraid that I'll send you duplicates! Thank you for the rating and heart!

Response: I'm glad you liked the camel postcard. And yes, you decoded the message correctly, or better yet . . . I wrote it correctly! I was worried that I had some missing dits or dahs! :) Thank you for the rating and heart!
Comment: This is a great post card, I love how one of the stores advertises that they sell "frocks"
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed. I liked 'frocks' too. Thank you for the rating and heart!
Comment: Thank you so much for the card! I can imagine all the crows would be super loud. We have tons of cicadas every summer around where I live and they get SO LOUD.
Response: You are welcome! We don't have cicadas here so I can only imagine how loud they are. Thank you for the rating and heart! :)

Response: I'm glad that the card arrived. I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Take care and thanks for the rating and heart!
Response: Thank you for rating. :)

Response: I am very impatiently waiting for summer! Thanks for the rating! :)
howdyholly rated for Uninteresting PC Swap - USA - #7 on Jan 11, 2021
Comment: The card is an advertisement for a shirt maker, I think the card is a blast from the past, but not that interesting.
Response: These uninteresting swaps are hard for me, I don't like sending something that doesn't make a person happy. But it does get rid of some pcs that are in my stash that I don't know what to do with. I just feel bad sending them. :( Thank you for the rating! :)
Gaucha rated for TGIF Weekend Notecard #224 on Jan 11, 2021
Comment: Hi Diana! Did Santa bring you kittens for Christmas?? I hope you (and me!) will be able to go the matches this year, fingers crossed! Best wishes, Janneke
Response: Yes, Santa did bring me kittens for Christmas! Tilly and Tia are 11 weeks old sisters and so sweet! And yes, I hope we'll be back at the matches next season. Take care and thank you for the rating and heart!
Comment: Thank you for the Paris card. I have never been there either. Closest I have come to seeing the Eifel Tower is the 500 foot replica in Las Vegas. The only countries I have been to are Jamaica in '99 and several Island countries in the eastern Caribbean when my daughter, a friend and I did an 8 day cruise in 2012.
Response: You're welcome! I have seen the Las Vegas Eiffel Tower too. Your trip to Jamaica and the Caribbean sounds lovely. I hope we can travel again soon. Thank you for the rating and heart!

I saw where you had left a 1 for a swap partner and you were so kind in your comment, hoping she was ok. I thought "There's a compassionate and kind person" and just wanted you to know.

i had never been to a crew (rowing) regatta until my oldest kid joined the crew team, freshman year in high school. And as far as WA is concerned, I have a good friend with two rowers - it's a big deal in the Seattle area. Not sure about sailing regattas though.
