About Me

I'm a 19-year-old Finnish girl, an atheist, a humanist and kinda green. I'm not easily offended, so there's no need to censor your artwork or letters. I like black humor and irony.

I can't wait to get a place of my own, a pet, and a day job. I want my life to start already! So while I'm waiting I buy little things (like a dining table and four chairs) for my future home. All kitchen items are welcome, I'm especially hunting for lime green things. I'm interested in languages, psychology, advertising, design, and so many other things, but I have no idea what I'd like to do for a living. I guess it's pretty normal but it's scary anyway. At the same time I want to go interrailing, study at a foreign university (like the one in Perugia, Italy), work in a developing country as a volunteer and visit big amusement parks around the world.

Ferris Wheel Showgirls Bicycle

I'm crazy about old amusement park, transportation and circus imagery. Circus things can be modern, too. :3 Raindrops, clouds, rainbows, lightning, umbrellas... I love rain-related things. Baking is fun and cupcakes are a hobby of mine. I used to play Dance Dance Revolution a lot but have been too lazy lately. I collect moose plushies. :) Bubbles are one of the best things in the world. But don't send bath products, please, since we don't have a bath tub. I love body care products that don't require one, though.

I hate it when people lie to me and I know they're lying, and doing things...half-assedly? Not doing my best. And bees. Disney characters and Diddl aren't fun. I don't like pictures of clumsy music notes, kitties or puppies, corny hearts, or smiley faces. Autumn leaves, daisies, snowflakes, and other holiday or season imagery are not close to my heart either... Except for the new plants of spring (they never used to be before but then I grew my first plant! I bought a mango, opened the stone and planted the seed. After 23 days it sprouted! It's my baby now. :))...

Favorite

Colors: Lime green, off-white, light pink, chocolate brown and some shades of purple, like blueberry. :) But earthy tones are pretty, too. I'm not a big fan of the primary colors or orange. A white base makes most colors look nice. :)
Patterns: Polka dots and stripes.
Designer: Tord Boontje.
Artists: Egon Schiele and Banksy.
Comics: Sandman, Mutts. And online: a softer world, xkcd.
Manga: All Sumomo Yumeka Anime: Honey&Clover (and Honey&Clover II).
Kawaii: I love the non-animal things (food and other items with faces). No Charmmy Kitty or Hello Kitty, please.
Coffee: I always buy a cappuccino at a coffee shop and I recently learned to make it at home, too. :)
Tea: Green, white and black tea. :3 But I don't really get the tea-like herbal beverages.
Candy:: Love mint chocolate. Gummy candy is awesome. Sour candy is lovely because I can't eat it all once. :D I hate fruity chocolate.
Flavors: Lime, lemon and orange are the best. Fruity flavors.
Scents: Stone hallways and forests. If it's artificial: lime, green apple or coffee. Light, fruity perfumes, nothing spicy.
Makeup: I only wear nailpolish, and very pale pinks and nudes at that. Lipbalm is fun, though.
Jewelry: Rainbow colored jewelry, and crystals and pearls. But inexpensive jewelry, too. :D Bracelets are my favourite.
Animals: Ravens, crows, hedgehogs, pandas, whales (except for dolphins, I got an overdose of them as a kid), owls, deer, moose (aka elks) lamas etc. and pidgeons. My favourite dog breed (in pictures only though, they're scary in real life!) is Bull Terrier (it's Jonathan Carroll's fault, his books are full of them) and Tibetan Terrier (which isn't a terrier at all.

Favorite Crafts

I realized I'm not into knitting so I learned to crochet instead. I don't know which I like more, the yarn or the crocheting. I love making stencils and I often silkscreen my designs onto tshirts and other things. But sometimes I make more and more stencils and never use them. I'm into beading and have been making jewelry for about a year now. I like painting, especially oils, and one of my favourite techniques is drawing with ink. I should try to sew a bit more and I haven't been quilting for a while but I love fabric. I'm crazy about stationery. I love blank notebooks and beautiful paper, I had to change the route I use to go to school because there was a paper shop on the way and I always used to stop by and waste all my money... I don't do scrapbooking or ATCs.

Favorite Books

Drawing Blood, Lost Souls, The Land of Laughs, The Wooden Sea, The Black Magician Trilogy, Anansi Boys, Good Omens, The Farseer Trilogy, Rei Shimura series, Naiv. Super, One-Minute Stories, Death and the Penguin, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Rainbow Boys, Twilight... So, a bit unusual fantasy books, sweet romances, gay boys, vampires, angst, happy endings as long as they don't feel forced. And the kind of books that don't fit into a category (at least I can't think of one) but are full of things that make you go 'wow'. :3 And I like books about life in the... Victorian era?

Favorite Music

Placebo, AFI, The Used, Billy Talent, The Dresden Dolls, Se, Pink Floyd, CMX, Idlewild, Blink-182, Elbow, Death Cab for Cutie, Mew. I have other favourites, too, but these I like the best.

Favorite Movies

Velvet Goldmine, Totoro and other Miyazaki's movies, V for Vendetta, A Clockwork Orange, Life of Brian, Dancer in the Dark... I forget most movies even if I like them a lot.

Wish List

Some things that are hard/impossible to find here but that I love (or "What Would Make Me Extra Happy"):

  • Any Noro yarn
  • Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab samples/products
  • Polkadotted fabric
  • The stuff that you can make your own stamps of. What is it called? I want to try it but no, they only sell pre-made stamps here.
  • Any part of Villeroy Boch's Thé Vert collection, or the Branch tea accessories that go with it
  • A candy called WarHeads (Juniors Extreme Sour). Something like that, not sure which parts belong to the name... Someone sent me a pack of it, and I gotta have more! Such a pretty lime green package too... :D
  • Anything Totoro related
  • Pretty (multicolor?) sock yarn
  • Kawaii coinpurse
  • Something Nyan Nyan Nyanko
  • Bamboo crochet hook, any size
  • Handbag handles, purse frames and other things that can be used in bag/pouch/pursemaking
  • Craft kits
  • Bird stamps
  • Something with owls or pandas
  • Cupcake things. As a theme or for making them!
  • Hot chocolate (the kind that you mix into hot water) one portion bags. I'd love to take these to school on cold winter days. :)
  • Something you've handmade for me

Not that hard to find here but I collect:

  • Moose plushies
  • Blank, serious but pretty journals (no illustrations, cute pictures, flowers etc)

Thank you for reading! :)

One-on-ones

  • omeletdufromage: yarn
  • Vlcatko: envie of paper scraps
  • DragonflyDore: bird greeting cards and kawaii memos

Comment: For some reason, I did not receive the first package. Today, I arrived at home and the mailman had left me TWO packages from Iina. Very, very strange! Anyway, she was nice enough to send one other as soon as she knew I had not yet received it. Of course, I'll be returning this last one. Thanks a lot for this!
Response: Wow, that's really odd! I'm glad you finally got it. :)

Comment: Your package was soo cool. Pretty die hard to my profile. The green thing is very intreguing. I haven't used it yet but it looks like not only a carrier bag holder, but a deffensive weapon too. Super cool colour :)

That's what most people say. Are you excited about the Watchman movie?

Neil himself. Only person cool enough. XD

Boolie on Jun 10, 2008:

I'll do that next then!

I have to ask (I ask everyone when talking about sandman...) if there was a Sandman movie who would you want to play Morpheus?

Boolie on Jun 10, 2008:

Haha, I've gotten that a lot! Do you like Delirium better? I was thinking of doing one for her too. Maybe a hair dye swap?
