About Me

tous ceux qui errent ne sont pas perdus

I joined swapbot in January 2007 💓
I have had a name change (2018). I was whisperwings

Please when sending me a swap use my first and last name, not my swap-bot user name. I live in a very small town where the PO is part of the general store and mail is filed alphabetically. There is no home delivery so I collect it from the store. We don't have mail in or out over the weekends and anything I mail after mid-day on Friday will not be checked through until Monday.

☻ 💕 Swap unto others as you'd have them swap unto you

I am a retired teacher and now run two businesses. I have introduced quite a few friends and some family members to swapbot. While I often mentor them and we may sit and do crafts together I do not take responsibility for their swapping habits.
💓 💓 💓

I am nani_ani on flickr
I am whisperingnan on AFA .

I believe ratings are important so I try to rate as soon as I receive and while we all have good intentions I sometimes slip up. If you think it has taken too long I don't mind if you jog my memory with a gentle reminder pm.

International mail can have many holdups along the way and more time is sometimes needed if those snails are taking the scenic route. It can take up to 4-5 weeks and sometimes more these days as the mail is moving much slower. Australia post have said they are slowing the mail and introducing an optional premium rate for letters to travel quicker!!! No-one can tell me how that effects international mail going through the Australian system. Living in Australia means most of my swaps are international. I am not hasty to rate before receiving considering the distance things need to travel and that the postal people seem to be working slower and slower.

If your item is SENT late I am happy to wait as long as there is contact between us before the send date and I allow lots of travel time. ( see the previous paragraph ) . I will not wait to rate a 1 if you are already receiving 1's or you don't answer any messages. It's about communication!

POSTING MAIL TO AUSTRALIA Australian Customs Information

NOTE About POSTCARDS : I enjoy unique or unusual postcards and any that make me smile. My favorites are art postcards. Those printed by artists from your local area would be wonderful as would handmade postcards that you make but please NO stickers or washi tape. I like bright and cheerful colours but that is not a requirement.

( While I love them going through the post naked I won't rate down if the swap says send naked and you put it in an envelope )
Any size is fine too. The bigger , the better !

I have dabbled in most things. Right now I enjoy watercolour painting, handmade postcards, chunky and not so chunky pages , making altered books, journaling , mixed media art , mail art, poetry writing and making mini zines 💕💕

I knit and sew and enjoy using felt.

I have a large collection of craft books and I would like to work my way through all of the great ideas but alas there are just so few craft hours available in any day .

Comment: it’s hard to know what a person might like in a blind swap specially since we had to seal them prior to the swap date, but you LITERALLY NAILED IT! I loved every single paper, bits and bobs in the envelope! My favorites were the cute deer paper and the little gingerbread house! I love mini things so that was a wonderful surprise 💜💜💜💜💜

Comment: Your zine was very beautiful. It was calming to read. ❤️ I also really like the look you achieved through tearing the white papers. I like that it isn’t so clean cut. It reminds me that it’s okay to be frayed along the edges.

Comment: One of the things I love about this swap is how participants create their zine, how they put them together. Every month a see something new. I love how you made your zine and the layout. It's sort of a deconstruction and a collage. The colours look great too, the background pops. The overall look is simple and effective. Thanks for sharing sojourner.

Comment: Your card arrived last week; apologies for just getting to it today. Thanks for a lovely handmade card; I have online acquaintances who moved to NZ from OZ and spoke about the losses from the brushfires. Poor birdies. At any rate: thanks for your artistry.
Comment: Oh my gosh, I love the octopus you drew for me! Thank you so much! ♥!
Comment: Thank you - I love it - I can't believe you painted it!
