I love to do many kinds of paper art, scrapbooking and journaling. Jesus loves me & I am eternally grateful. I love being a wife, mom, Disneyland tour guide and former teacher.

Passions for Handel's Messiah, country music, zydeco, CS Lewis, e e cummings, Max Lucado, Gaudi, French Impressionist painters, The West Wing, Amazing Race, NYC, Broadway, France, Yosemite, Santa Barbara, art museums & history, the Tour de France. My favorite travels have been to France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Barcelona, London and the Cotswolds, Yosemite, Kauai and a Disney cruise anywhere!

I collect old and new Golden Books and pop up books for kids and adults, Disney and Disneyland items (the older the better!) Nativities and vintage 1930's, 40's & 50's Christmas ornaments & cards. (Maybe I'm stuck in the past!)

My happy place is the beach/ocean. Sitting in solitude on my verandah on a Disney cruise ship, enjoying the sea, clouds and sunshine is perfect!

One of my favorite things about my job is that I get to assist many precious families visiting Disneyland through the Make a Wish Foundation!

Comment: Oh my gosh you out done your self! The envelope and the things in it were amazing I wish I could give more than one heart. Love all the bible verses. The minion envelope is so cute.

Comment: Shirley, these are the nicest cards I've gotten on swap-bot for a while--I really love them all! Thanks so much. What's up w/99 degrees there?! Ugh is right! We still have ski resorts open west of Denver-seriously!
Comment: Shirley, thanks for the very fun and strange postcards you sent me. The "Idaho Designated Driver" (dog on horse with drunk cowboy behind) is a hoot. I think I have a card somewhere of a deer driving a convertible with a hunter sprawled out on the hood, which seems like poetic justice. It makes me chuckle in the same way. The "Long Noses of Borneo" is also an interesting card. Thanks for the extra ephemera too! I will happily host more of these if I can get some more people interested. I think I was a member of Not Your Usual Postcard a long time ago, but I am not now, so I have asked to join the group. I am always happy to meet another swapper who enjoys the unusual. Have a great weekend! Cynthia PS - I like your shuffleboard commentary on your envelope as well!

Comment: Oh. My. Gosh!!!! 😱😍❤️ If I could give you 1000 ❤️ That wouldn’t be enough. You don’t understand how much I love all the little goodies you sent me. I consider them priceless!! I have never been to Disneyland and prolly never will because it’s soo very far from me. My family and I went to DW back in 2011 and we didn’t get actual tickets our stuff was loaded into a plastic credit card so I love the paper tickets! We’re you a cast member?! I know I will never have cast member stuff!! The stickers?!! Aghh!!! 😍😱❤️ I tickled with everything!!! Also on the back of the Mickey and Minnie kissing clipping there is an advertisement for a car salesman, Steve Lewis. THATS MY HUSBANDS NAME!!! Haha!! So neat!!! Thank you so very much I love everything!!! 💗💞
Response: You made my day! SO glad you liked everything - and how random is it that your husband's name showed up in an ad! Yes, I work at Disneyland and love it.

Comment: I've been on the road so just now collecting mail & rating. Thank you for the swap cards & extra. The B&W bathing beauty is a hoot! Sadly whatever decorative item you put on the front of the envie didn't survive the trip. A tiny bit still adhered was the clue that something had once been there. Oh, the perils of mail art! Hope the sun is shining on you once again.

Comment: Hi Shirley, thanks for the fun cards. I appreciate you selecting ones that you thought I might like based on my profile. I especially like the one that has the tin can on it where one can insert a photo, seal it and then send as a postcard. Fun! All the best, Cynthia
Comment: Shirley, these are HILARIOUS! And beautiful! Thanks so much for the re-send, you're amazing. This Frida card makes me so happy. :):):)
Comment: ❤❤❤ Fantastic assortment of cards! Loved them all, but the Star Wars card is really putting a smile on my face right now. 😀
