I love to do many kinds of paper art, scrapbooking and journaling. Jesus loves me & I am eternally grateful. I love being a wife, mom, Disneyland tour guide and former teacher.
Passions for Handel's Messiah, country music, zydeco, CS Lewis, e e cummings, Max Lucado, Gaudi, French Impressionist painters, The West Wing, Amazing Race, NYC, Broadway, France, Yosemite, Santa Barbara, art museums & history, the Tour de France. My favorite travels have been to France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Barcelona, London and the Cotswolds, Yosemite, Kauai and a Disney cruise anywhere!
I collect old and new Golden Books and pop up books for kids and adults, Disney and Disneyland items (the older the better!) Nativities and vintage 1930's, 40's & 50's Christmas ornaments & cards. (Maybe I'm stuck in the past!)
My happy place is the beach/ocean. Sitting in solitude on my verandah on a Disney cruise ship, enjoying the sea, clouds and sunshine is perfect!
One of my favorite things about my job is that I get to assist many precious families visiting Disneyland through the Make a Wish Foundation!
TRYING HARD TO COLLECT:
Currently crazy about:
Also:
children's book ephemera: dust jackets, ABC's, Caldecott nominees, Golden Books, stickers & book marks based on classic characters, bookplates. Especially loving Paddington Bear right now!
school theme, especially vintage: pages from readers, vocabulary/math flashcards, spelling & penmanship books, report cards, class photos, logos.
Anything Disney, especially older items, pins, Mickey, Dumbo, Snow White, Dwarfs, Jiminy Cricket, Mary Poppins, Bambi, Thumper, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast
If you have rubber stamps, you could stamp or emboss some images of bicycles, typewriters or faces for me! If you have a Sizzix/Cricut type machine (I don't) I love the real intricate designs, like fancy flourishes, damask cartridge, etc.
any bug/insect themes, stationery, notecards, ribbon, lace, buttons, recipe cards, magnets, post-its, quotes.
My PREFERENCE is always BLANK CARDS SENT IN AN ENVELOPE (if you don't mind.)
My favorites would be:
Maxicards (postcard with matching stamp and cancellation on image side of card)
Cavallini postcards, especially eager for those from Paris Christmas Glitter Greetings - I don't have any yet!!!
cards of watercolor art by Chihiro Iwasaki
cards by artists Shinzi Katoh, Mila Marquis or Cathy Delannsay
any from the Art of Urban Sketching postcard set
map cards, especially foreign countries or unusual maps rather than states
cards with cut-outs
Mithila art
watercolor cards
Barbie doll theme
sketch cards
travel poster art cards (like Anderson Design Group art cards of National Parks)
nouvelle images cards
Gotochi postcards (especially doll, character, food) - previously mailed are OK, too
Disney cards (especially The Art of Disney: the Renaissance and Beyond or the Golden Age, 1950's-80's series,Disney Princess Box, Disney artwork or international Disney cards)
US National Parks (I have the most well known, including Acadia, Bryce, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Mt Ranier, Smoky Mtns, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion)
Hello Kitty, Kerokerokeroppi or any Sanrio (especially with words printed in foreign language on image side of card)
postcards of fog, rain, amazing clouds
I'd also love these themes:
I do LOVE chocolate - mostly milk chocolate, or dark with caramel or peppermint or orange; dislike coffee and peanuts.
I LOVE Christmas and put up 6 trees: an angel tree, a Mickey Mouse tree, a family tree with ornaments from our vacations, ones our kids made in school, etc., a vintage tree with ornaments from the 30's,40's & 50's and two smaller 3 foot trees -- one with ornaments from our trip to the Christmas Markets in Europe and a Disney cruise tree.
THANKS for taking time to read my profile!
