2017 A NEW YEAR/ ADDRESS/UPDATE
We moved, my husband bought me our dream house. We officially moved in September 2015. I am still learning about and adjusting to the home. Its a Colonial on 30 plus acres. There is a pond and a pool. We have goats and chickens for a girl from Brooklyn it's quite a change.
My knee is completely blown out and Im just waiting for doctors to do a knee replacement. I really wouldn't care but the house is on a hill.
I am still silly. I love to play, have fun and just be happy. I pray daily and love God.
Art and crafting has now replaced social media and candy crush.
I'm a teacher by vocation and academically. I have a masters of science in education, with degrees and certification for students with disabilities( grades 1thru 6), literacy ( birth - grade 6 ) elementary education ( pre k -grade 6). I am married for more than 40 years, to the same man. I'm also a mom of 4 grown children, a grandson and a grandpup.
My hobbies include reading, crafting, cooking, gardening, nature and searching for treasure. I love everything old and I LOVE TO COLLECT: art, books, boxes, perfume bottles, ephemera, tins, antique textiles and so much crap as my husband calls it, that I am often referred to as a pack rat.
My interest are metaphysics, the paranormal, comparative religion, reincarnation and alternative medicine. I'm a rockhound, but I'm always picking up something pieces of wood, pennies whatever catches my eye. I love playing in the dirt. My nails are always breaking and have dirt under them, no manicures on these hands.
I use arts and crafts as a form of personal therapy and my pets are my therapist. They are also my best friends. One day I would love to have an animal sanctuary.
I am very much a recluse, who prefers the company of children and animals to most adults. I have been disappointed by to many people. I know what I like and I am not interested in what others think or do as long as they don't effect me.
One of my most treasured possessions is an Edwardian living room/sitting room suite, it has 7 pieces all having their original horse hair sheep's wool filling/ batting. They have suffered abuse through the years. The sofa has extensive damage as does the other pieces but I love them. I don't care how it appears to others, I love them and that is that. Whenever I can get them restored authentically/ historically I will, until then patch, patch, patch.
I believe life was meant to be enjoyed.
I seem to have a Peter Pan complex, as I refuse to grow up.
I love bright colors (actually all colors), loud music, animals, nature, crafting/ making things, games and having fun.
I'm also a bit of a brat and a rebel. I am me and make no excuses for what / who I am.
I love music, all music. My favorite group/band is Hot Tuna, but the 1970s California bands( Grateful Dead, NRPS, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Janis Joplin, etc all) are awesome. I also love the blues Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, James Cotton, Buddy Guy to name a few. Then I enjoy jazz John Coltrane/ Thelonious Monk type jazz, especially on Sunday mornings. And light classical like Chopin, ( Jean Pierre Rampal's a favorite performer) is perfect when I'm stressed. So pretty much everything, music is love.
Old cartoon movies like Disney, are an exception I can always watch vintage cartoons. I just saw an old movie called a Dog's Story. It was definitely worth watching. REVIEW 4 Bones Old black and white movies are the best.
I don't have a favorite craft. Maybe it is what I am currently working on. I have experience crafting everything from ceramics, pottery, wood, metal, fused glass, mixed media, collage, paper crafts, copper enameling, embroidery and the list goes on. My current favorites are altered art, mixed media, assemblage, art journaling, primitive/folk dolls and ATC's .
I love books, reading them and collecting them. I have hundreds of books. My favorites are children's book's. However I also have in my library an extensive collection of non-fiction from cookbooks, gardening, crafting, religion and philosophy to childhood education. So please unless it is a book I'm specifically looking for, don't think of me, send them elsewhere.
The book I am looking for is "Strangers at the Pentagon" by Dr. Frank Strange
A favorite book I recommend "Gateway to Happiness " by Zelig Pliskin it is definitely worth your time to read.
What I would really love to receive because I don't need anything are ATC's. Then unusual seeds (to plant both inside and out), I love unusual/ authentic feathers (not dyed), arrowheads, crystals or cool small rocks, natural items, old pieces of driftwood, old/vintage greeting cards, unusual matchbooks or ephemera. I'm in New York state so things from other places are wonderful, that includes bottle caps, postcards, etc. I also think magnets are very cool and INCENSE, I love incense. Then atcs did I mention that befor. Other small original artwork /craft pieces are awesome bookmarks to handmade soap. I am also passionate about art supplies and love to try new mediums, materials and artsy toys/tools. Actually all tools are cool.
I am technologically challenged.(THAT IS WHY I DIDN'T REALIZE MY ADDRESS CHANGE WASN'T AUTOMATIC * SORRY) I love the old fashioned way the post office. So if I email you, ask stupid questions, re-post, or don't upload images that is why. I will acknowledge receiving and rating, that you can be sure.
**Don't take this all so seriously or stress yourself life is short.
*** I was under the influence that if a swap was satisfied / met the requirement you rated a 5. If the individual goes above and encloses extras you give a heart. I follow these guidelines and would like others to as well
**** I made the above statement as some swaps make it difficult to express/ display true artistic abilities. I enjoy swapping and the challenges however I feel swap snobs are negative and have bad energy. If a card or swap doesn't meet your expectations please be kind. The wheel goes around very quickly.
Scrabble, Sudoku and May Jong are games I enjoy.
I started hosting swaps so I am now forced to make a FLAKERS list.
User name #1. Gemo Real name Pryanka Rao
