Description:

You've heard the saying one man's trash is another man's treasure, well here is your chance to turn your trash into a treasure.

In this swap you will recycle materials into a purse. Any type of materials are welcome. I have seen purses made from pop cans, juice pouches, and many other materials. For those that knit or sew maybe you can use old material to create your purse. Basically your imagination is your only limitation.

Once your purse is completed you will fill it with the things a girl always needs in her purse. You must include 1 lipgloss, 1 package of breathmints or gum, and 1 keychain. Extra goodies are always welcome, but in order to fufill your swap it must have those three items.

So here's the nitty gritty...

  1. No newbies. You must have at least 5 rated swaps for items. E-swaps do not count. If you are trying to establish ratings, please check out this forum thread for people willing to set up one on one trades to help newbies establish ratings.

  2. You must be rated 4.7 or higher with no no-sends for at least three months.

  3. To be considered a purse there must be some kind of handle or shoulder strap included in your design. Clutches will not count.

  4. I will ban the day the swap closes, so if you have information about one of the swappers being questionable please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yay, a sewing project for a couple months from now! I'm 'sew' in!

Would using recycled yarn to knit or crochet a purse be OK?

Do we wait to be assigned partners to look at their profiles, or can we start on this now and it be swappers choice?

GlasgowLindsay, recycled yarn would be fine. Really whatever you choose is fine.

Craftygirl, this is a swappers choice so you can start now. The profile will come in handy when selecting lipgloss, keychain, etc. :)

I found the coolist textile today to recycle. It will be perfect if my partner likes 50's style kitchy stuff.
