For me it is the stitching that is new ~ I have only tried it a few times and I really like it.

Senders choice of size & color ~ it just has to be like the one in the tutorial.

Beautiful! I have done the wavy lines just like that! I think it was on my very 1st mug rug! ;-) and it went to @Kmug ..... the brite leopard print one! ;-) Remember?

There's lots of ways to make a mug rug -- so thanks for including the tutorial which is easy enough for anyone. I'm into using up scraps, this will make only a very tiny dent but it's a start.

And I am starting to love the stitching, there is so many different things you can do once you are comfortable with the technique.

Do you mean this is to be done exactly as the tutorial as far as fabrics are concerned? or just fabric you have on hand? I have much fabric and not this pattern or color shown and hate to go out and search for it.

Hi Diane, any fabric you have. It's more about the stitching. I am new to it and really like it.
