20 May 2013: I will be doing a One Sentence for June but it won't be up til I get proper Internet, I find it too difficult to make swaps on the phone...

17 May 2013: Still no Internet. Apparently the tech said he came and nobody answered the door to him. We have a doorbell that would deafen anyone within a 5 mile radius and the front door was open anyway. So, now our new date is 22 May. I'm not sure what year that will be though.....

11 May 2013: still without 'real' Internet because first, there was no work order because someone got confused and the order was cancelled as it was impossible to do what had been ordered - which wasn't what we had ordered at all anyway apparently. I sat around all day waiting for something that wasnt going to happen. Then when we got that sorted, our telco couldn't 'verify' our address so instead of turning up to see if it exists or ringing us to see if it is right, they just cancelled our work order.. So, it has been rescheduled for connection on the 13th May. Hopefully it will get connected and I can catch up on things.

22 April 2013: I will be moving house this coming weekend and will be offline from Thursday night til Monday morning.. - it will be a long 3 days.. Thank goodness I have a 'smartphone'. No swaps will be late because I don't have any to send out yet..!

Goodness me.. reading other peoples profiles is great, but sorta makes me think there isn't that much to me.. that I can really think of!

I am a stay-at-home grandma with 7 grandkids, and an angel baby, and 2 extra by default. I take care of one full-time.. I have 4 adult kiddies and two still live at home..

I have fibromyalgia and a few other minor disabilities but do crafty things to keep me 'active', sane and not sitting in a corner, waiting for the Grim Reaper..

I knew it would end badly and it has.. . Some people are so hard to please.. no matter what you do and they can be so rude too. Attitude is important.. and a bad one is not pretty. I have had no complaints about any of the others I have done, but it only takes one person to ruin it all.... :(

I don't have a 'perfect' score and am now considered a 'risk' and a bad swapper.. bugga me.

I don't really have a favourite music.. though anything with a 'big' sound is good.. I like, in no particular order:

There used to be a radio on all the time in the kitchen, but the music is so boring and repetitive that I don't have it on anymore. There is a radio in the GD's room, she 'can't sleep without it' !

Once upon a time... lol, I used to read a lot of books, I was always in trouble at school for not listening in class because I was reading a book instead! With the birth of kids and with life in general, I don't read much anymore.. unless it is craft magazines, of course. Or blogs.

My favorite book though, is Power of One.. and the sequel, Tandia.

I don't watch many movies, I find them 'unbelievable' and predictable. Though I do like to watch kids movies.. lol..

but..

The Green Mile was a great movie..

SSHH.. Just between you and me.. I love Top Gun too.. I watched it 4 times in a row when it first came out on video and twice a day til it was time to take it back to the shop.. how sad. LOL

But I am not that keen on Mr Cruise.. I just liked the movie.. Val Kilmer was better looking :)

I have tried many crafts over the years.. I love them all.. if it is creative in anyway, I will give it a go. My number one craft is quilting.. well, it used to be before it got too much to throw big quilts around under the sewing machine.. I do scrapbooking and dabble in card making. I have done pottery, lino printing, metal work, woodwork and lead lighting. I knit and taught myself to sort-of crochet.

I have no idea what to write in here...

so I will start with a few things I like and dislike.. til someone tells me things that should be here that aren't.

• I love the colour black ( even though it isn't a colour) and dark purple.. and dark blue.. and peacock blue.. and pink.. I love bling..

• I love chocolate.. though I don't eat a lot of it anymore.

• I hate hate hate peanuts.. actually.. i really hate peanuts. No, i don't have an allergy to them, I just hate the smell and the taste. So my kids never had peanut butter/paste unless they ate it at friends places or they moved out and bought it themselves..!

• I had a dog but she died of breast cancer. My DH has a cat. An indoor-only cat. And DH has a bunny.

• I collect unicorns.. though I have nowhere to keep them at the moment.. paper with unicorns is good. Fabric with unicorns is good.. Or cats. Or fairies. Or pansies.

• I have a collection of (and am still collecting) notebooks too.. some of them will never see pen on their pages in my lifetime, but that is ok.. I like them and that is all that is important. If I had some composition notebooks, I would use them.. and use them... also use them like this Journal

• My Princess (aka the granddaughter) loves pink and purple and shiny.. she is such a girly girl, which is weird because neither her mother or I are.

• My DH is a 'real' bloke.. a biker-type. So if you have a spare Harley laying around, he would appreciate you sending it over..

• Postcards.. I love postcards. I love postcards sent naked and written on. I love postcards of where you are at - your town, your city, your state, your country during the day, during the evening or at night - especially if it is somewhere other than where I live!!

Err... ?

I don't really have much to put on a wishlist.. that I can think of right now anyway !

But I will give it a go..

• if you are sending me something pictorial from nowhere near where I live, like a calendar or postcard, please let it show where you live, not the animals/things I have on my like list..
• I would really love to go to Alaska, so any photos or pictures or newspapers showing anywhere in Alaska would be wonderful..
• Black Stuff.. it is hard to find 'fun' black stuff
• Pink stuff.. just because
• Glow in the dark stuff.. because it is fun..
• Beads - glass, not plastic. Plastic melts when it gets ironed..
• Actually, stuff of any colour would be appreciated..
• Stickers
• Black-ink pens
• Postcards from places other than where I live.. NOT in an envelope.. write on it and post it !
• Composition notebooks.. as many as you can send.. do they come in a 5" X 7" variety ? and, if possible, I would love half page blank, half page lined (I can't remember what it is called now). But ANY would be good..

Then there are some don't wish fors..

• scraps of paper - I have enough of my own
• anything with peanuts, or any nuts
• embroidery floss, I have more than enough
• scraps of fabric, same reason as above. I have enough fabric and scraps to last me past life expectancy.
• I don't like 1930's/civil war/floral fabric..
• Gum. Gum is level with peanuts on my hate scale.. I cannot stand gum.
• religion. religion is up there on the hate scale with gum and peanuts. I don't care for anything religious at all. EVER.
• No perfume or scented stuff or make up - I don't like it.
• No tea or coffee, I don't drink tea or coffee..
• Christmas-themed items, bah humbug. I am Australian, I don't celebrate Halloween..
• I did mention I don't like religious stuff.. even if it is notepaper that you are writing a note on to tell me about the swap. DON'T send it please. or don't write religious stuff on the envelope.. I don't care if you love your religious idol, I don't need - or want - to know about it.! EVER. Sorry... :)

I also wish for everyone to be nice.. I want my partners to be nice.. I am nice, I just expect it back. I explained what was happening, I didn't expect bad attitude in return. meh.. only group or private swaps for me I think.

If you live outside Australia, it's not a good idea to post seeds/plants, shells, soil/sand, tea with fruit pieces, incense, dried/pressed flowers, raw nuts/seeds, any animal products such as raw hide, feathers, teeth, bones, any wooden items. All of these sort of items will not be allowed through Australian customs and immigration. Sorry :(
