Description:

This idea was posted in the Inspirations thread by @PJ .

This was made by @tangledthreads on Swap-bot - you can see a larger image here.

Here is the description she wrote about her process:

Actually, it is vintage ephemera, etc. collaged onto cardstock. I make one original, take it to Office Max and have color copies made on cardstock, cut out, fold up, stick a note in it and off it goes!

It is like any other other collaging project, you just start with a base and layer pretty paper and images until it makes you happy!

For this swap, you will need either:
- Access to Office Max or a similar place that can print on card stock
OR
- A scanner/photocopier/printer at home

We will create an original Christmas/holiday image on 8.5" x 11" (or A4) paper, and then make 1 printed envelope for each of our 5 partners. (If you think this is too many partners, please comment below and we can discuss.)

The envelopes should be as large as you can get them to print out on 8.5" x 11" (or A4) card stock.

You may make the image any way you like, using any materials and techniques - it does not have to be a vintage ephemera collage, as long as it is your own work.

Please assemble (cut, fold, glue/tape) them before sending.

For this swap, no religious themes please and thx.

I am thinking these envelopes would be great for giving small gifts like gift cards, cash, magnets, ornaments, ATCs, etc.

Please Note:

I know this is a really great group of swappers, and I try to keep up on profile checks, but just in case you do not receive your swap within a reasonable period of time, and have tried but cannot work it out with your partner, please do let me know. I will always angel (or arrange an angel) for you if you do not receive your swap, as long as you have rated your partner a 1. (“;)

If you have posted a question below, would you please also pm me to let me know as I don't check my swaps every day. Thx.

Have fun!

Do they need to be sent flat or do we cut them out and fold them up, put them in another envelope and send them?

TerryF 09/16/2012 #

Please assemble (cut, fold, glue/tape) them before sending - cheaper and easier to mail that way. (";)

so by no religious santa xmas trees etc are ok right just not crosees and nativitys just checking

TerryF 10/10/2012 #

That's correct. Even angels are ok if they are not in a religious setting - you often see them portrayed as cute little children and such.

LizzyJo 10/17/2012 #

Would it be ok to add something (like a little glitter glue to add sparkle) to the copies when you assemble them?

TerryF 10/17/2012 #

For this swap I am going to say no because I would like the design itself to be the focal point.

However, if you want to make and send an extra second one to your partners, please feel free to do whatever you like with it.

Can I make one with a giant killer tomato eating a Christmas Tree as long as the tomato has angel wings?

TerryF 10/20/2012 #

Sure. As long as you aren't sending to me.

starrycat 10/20/2012 #

Paige...you can send your fab-tastic killer tomato envie to me...;P
