I am a retired teacher and live in the beautiful state of Kentucky. I spend most of my time with my two grandchildren, who are 6 and 7 years old. They have made me see the world with new eyes again and we have great times together. I love to read, and enjoy a wide variety of books. I love animals and currently the furry family consists of two cats and one dog. I like to try many different types of crafts and love to collect fabulous junk that other people seem not to want. I love to cook and try new recipes. My two children and their families live less than 5 miles from me so I cook for everyone at least 3 times a week. I have been married for 44 years. I have many, many craft items and would love to swap with others.

My favorite music is silence. I love the still quiet time when I am alone. When I do listen to music I like many different kinds. I like classical, easy listening, especially from the 60's and 70's, some country, lots of old folk tunes and some new age. I enjoy instrumental music.

I have so many favorite books. I enjoy craft and art books, cook books, novels, mysteries, and poetry, I belong to a book club. Mayeve Binchy, Jodi Picoult, John Grisham, Sandra Dallas, and James Patterson are some of my favorite authors. I have books on mixed media, scrapbooking, card and book making, embroidery, crazy quilting,jewelry making, silk ribbon embroidery, collage, and altered books and I love them all.

My husband and I go to the movies often and I love to see a chick flick with my girl friend on a girls night out. I really enjoyed The Help, Leap Year, and anything with Johnny Depp. One of my favorite all time movies is a very old one, Friendly Persuasion. I love to watch Katherine Hepburn movies and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is at the top of that list. Pretty Woman, The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca. Give me a big bag of popcorn and I will watch almost anything.

I do not watch very much television. I do like NCIS, and loved Monk while it was on. I like cooking shows and love the Barefoot Contessa, Chopped, and Paula Deen.

You name it, I have probably tried it or have a book about it or want to try it. I like crazy quilting but it really is time consuming and I don't have much time at the present. This year when both the little ones go to school I hope to be able to have more time for crafts. I love to work with paper and love to collect items to use for cards, altered books, scrapbooks,ATC's mailart, and mixed media.. I love rubber stamps and use them in many ways. I love to make tags, postcards, ATCs and journals. I love butterflies and birds. I love paper punches. I collect old children's books, old postcards, letters, lace, ribbons, foreign books, game pieces, keys, old costume jewelry, charms, buttons, silk fabric, recipes, rubber stamps, paper punches, old maps, dictionaries, almanacs, pretty much anything that I can cut up, paste on, or sew on. I would love to have telephone directory pages, book pages,pretty food or can labels and stamps (old, new, on paper or off), menus, or other ephemera from any country other than the USA.I love, love, love old ephemera and photos. I guess I just love to piddle and dabble in about anything that is messy. I have tried oil and watercolor painting, paper making, print making, paper mache, decoupage, and photography. I believe that if you enjoy doing something enough, it is worth doing badly (such as my watercolors) I have a blast but you really wouldn't want to see them.

I am not picky about most things. Love to try new things. I do not have a favorite color. I really like them all. Do love vintage looking stuff with roses or flowers or out of date fashions. I love most any kind of paper, love postage stamps, anything old or vintage, or retro. I love tea, coffee and hot chocolate. I am not allergic to any and am willing to try most anything except licorice flavor tea. I cannot have scented objects because they give me headaches.
