I have two little ones, but I think the three year-old would get the biggest kick out of it. Some ideas are a bag for her daycare stuff, a dotee (for me to put where she can't reach it!), a doll, a monster stuffie, a t-shirt...She would be thrilled with anything, really. She loves pink and purple and lots of "bling." :-)

I don't have kids (yet), but I'll be swapping for my goddaughter, Claire, 4-year old since June, as tall and smart and talkative as a 6-year old. She likes her doll (a 40-cm Corolle type), playing house or doctor. Any color is fine but no glitter please.

Dates have been edited to allow more time for the holiday postal chaos.

My son is 10 and he loves Spongebob and the Transformers. I will probably have to change this closer to the time as he changes his flamin' mind so often!!! Turning into a teenager already.

I'm looking forward to this! My son is 6 years old. He LOVES crafts! Small kid crafts that are simple that he can do himself. He loves books. He is a total animal lover! He loves science. He's into astronomy and the human body. He's an avid little bug collector! he likes Totoro. His favorite animal is cats. He loves to draw and paint. Especially paint! As for characters, presently into Transformers, Speed Racer, Wall-E, and he's looking forward to seeing "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" !

Sorry if this got long, just want to make it easy for whoever gets him :)

I'm signing up for my 8 1/2 year old daughter. Actually, she'll be 9 shortly after sign-ups close (10/22). She wears a size 4 - 4 1/2 shoe (in case you choose to make socks) and 8-10 clothing. She has an American Girl doll (Just Like Me, not a character, so no period specific clothes necessary, although not unwelcome) that she'd love handmade clothes for. She likes monkey themes, pirate themes & Tinkerbell (or general fairies). Her favorite color is green.

No allergies. :) Oh, and her name is Molly. :)

I'm a bit confused by some of the responses above.... are we supposed to MAKE something or send something THEY can make?

DosLittleMonkeys 08/ 4/2008 #

Hmmmmm you may be onto something madcraftermom! I had intended that the moms (or dads?) make the item. But putting together a sort of "do it yourself kit" for the recipient is a cute idea. Like a DIY dotee or monster....

madcraftermom 08/ 5/2008 #

Hm.. well, let me know. I was planning on being able to knit something. If its just a "buy stuff to send" swap, I may decide to drop. LOL!

BTW...... can someone tell me what a dotee is? As an avid crafter I hate having to ask...... LOL!

DosLittleMonkeys 08/10/2008 #

This is definately NOT a buy stuff to send.

A dotee is a little hand made doll that has a hanger and a tail that was created by a lady named Dot. They're so cool to collect because you can hand them on the wall, create dotee trees, etc. They can be very simple or very embellished....

I saw Dot's page once, but now you have to be a member of blogspot.com to see it.

You can pick any of my children. They are all listed with their likes in my bio. If there are any questions please pm me.

My daughter is 6 and likes stuffies, not "normal" dolls, but monsters or animals. She also likes aprons, dotees, bags and scarfs. Other general likes (colors, characters, etc) are on my profile.

Dotees are little dolls. I made a video on them once, and Dot opened up her blog again. See more on my homepage. http://www.smilesandsunshine.com search for dotee.

Ok, I don't have a kid. I'm a teacher of 6-8 year olds. I was just thinking I could put some little toys or something in my treasure box. Handmade things that have been a hit so far are beaded bracelets and little hair clips for the girls. The boys prefer stickers and little notebooks. So, anything for a 6-8 year old would be nice.

DosLittleMonkeys 10/16/2008 #

More ideas for Makena, who is three: Felt food, beaded jewlery, hair clips (thanks Smilesandsunshine for the idea!), slippers...Like I said, she just loves surprises! She fell in love with a purse that Toffle made so if you have her for a partner, you are in for a treat!!

I would like to make this for my 3 yr. old daughter. She doesn't go to school and this would be a nice surprise for her. She loves softies, homemade dolls, doll clothes, appliqued t's, 'jewels', ect.

smilesandsunshine 10/18/2008 #

Is there a certain price range for this swap or since it is homemade, is it a stocking stuffer or a big gift?

DosLittleMonkeys 10/24/2008 #

There is no price limit on this. I would say $5 to however extravagant you would like to be....If that helps...

madcraftermom 12/25/2008 #

Thank you again for a wonderful swap. My daughter just opened her Christmas swap present and was thrilled. I am adding pics. :)
