Description:

This is a monthly INTERNATIONAL swap. I am regularly asked if this swap can be made USA only. My answer is always no. There are an abundance of US only swaps out there. Please join those if you aren't happy with international shipping.

NB I cannot angel this swap this month.

Here are the rules:

For this swap, you will send AT LEAST 5 goodies to your partner, in no smaller than an A5 (6x9) envelope.

The idea of a blind surprise is to select and wrap each item individually BEFORE your partner is assigned. For this swap, anything goes...

BUT please only send in the condition you would like to receive.. DO NOT send any dirty or broken items. Items should be as good as new/ new.

Approximate spend: £5 / 5.91 Euros / 7.58 US dollars excluding postage.

This swap is a flake free zone. If you cannot afford to send items to this value, or you do not have the time to, please do not join.

No recent 1s or 3s. I will be checking profiles.

Only well filled out profiles. If you have an empty or brief profile, you will be removed.

Examples of goodies to send:

Small souvenirs from your country

Pens

Chocolate

Snacks

Note cards

Fridge Magnets

Washi Tape

Sticker sheets

Postcards (4= 1 item)

...The list is endless!!

If you receive something you do not use, save it for another swap. Simple :)

PLEASE REMEMBER TO WRAP YOUR SURPRISES.

I check all profiles, and remove as required immediately prior to assigning partners

I love the idea. would you consider making a USA version?

paraxparaxnoia 12/21/2014 #

@atinagrace the host is from the UK so it would be impossible for her to make a US only swap. Also, this is an international swap so you're welcome to join :)

Thanks for explaining @paraxparaxnoia As my profile says, there's a whole world out there @atinagrace Embrace it :)

I love surprises!! :) Can't wait to get things started!

Does the envelope really have to be that big? For me, to mail an envelope that size would cost more than the amount stipulated here. Most of the suggested items would fit in a letter-sized envelope anyway.

I hope you'll reconsider envelope size so I can join this swap. :)

Jen2108 01/ 9/2015 #

@LovelyLici - A5 is a letter sized envelope? It's half the size of A4, the kind of envelope you'd mail a regular sized greetings card in.

LovelyLici 01/ 9/2015 #

@Jen2108 Letter-size would be the second one here: http://www.paperstone.co.uk/images/categories/envelopes/Envelope-sizes-1600.jpg

In The Bahamas, the charge for a 6x9 is far higher than a letter-sized envelope. I'm just thinking that it makes sense to send in a letter-sized envelope if everything fits rather than sending in a larger envelope which would cost a lot more money, take up more space, and waste the product.

I don't mean to be super-critical here. Just raising a point that I think some others may be able to relate to.

@lovelylici the required size for this swap is a 6x9 envelope. It will cost around $6 to $12 US to send overseas if the items are over 1/4 inch thick, which is likely as the gifts are required to be wrapped. And I personally would use a bubble mailer so that the items will not get damaged traveling so far.

snailmailer1 01/ 9/2015 #

@LovelyLici - Yes, the size of the envelope is the minimum requirement. I for one would be very disappointed to receive a flat envelope for this swap. The suggestions are just that - suggestions.

Pity I will be away on holiday during the swap. Can't wait for next month's!!!

All questionable swappers will be removed prior to assigning partners.
