I'm really excited to see so many folks are signed up already. This is my first time hosting, so please let me know if I've missed anything or if you have any questions!

What a GREAT Idea! I have several photos in mind already, and can't wait to print them out in the correct size (which is sometimes quite challenging).

FarStarr 07/19/2007 #

Linda, I take a lot of my pictures knowing that about half the frame will work as an ATC if I print it as a 4x6. Does that make sense? In other words, many of my pictures are not centered in the middle, but off to the side. If I do that and print a 4x6 I can cut my desired image down to 2 1/2x 3 1/2 no problem.

I've had the best luck (in Photoshop and Adobe PhotoDeluxe) by first adjusting the 'photo size' to 2.5 x 3.75 and then adjusting the 3.75 to 3.5 in 'canvas size.' That way the cropping is minimal and can be adjusted incrementally depending on where you choose to anchor it.

Of course, this also means that I end up using one sheet of paper per image printed. It's not the most inexpensive way to do it, but it works out best for me artistically because I don't like to crop much if I can help it.

I already have several made as I love to do Photo ATCs!!! Glad you are hosting one here! Thanks!

ladyb 07/28/2007 #

Just so I don't make any mistakes here - we do not have to embelish and all that right - it can just be the photo and that's it. I have some great photos that I feel are just perfect the way they are without adding anything to them. I just want to make sure it is ok to do them that way.

EmilyPostPunk 07/28/2007 #

Nope - they don't have to be embellished at all! Plain photos are fine. I do a lot of mine that way.

Mine will be on their way with Monday's mail, so keep a look out for them, twobluecrows, sewcool72, and Liz! And Emily Post-Punk: thanks for hosting!

DorthaKayLittleGoose 07/29/2007 #

Mine will be in the mail tomorrow, Monday to Angel Faery (Kathleen), gracemom6 (Jean) and to brokenfaedoll (Melody). I love the photo idea as I take a great deal of photos too. Just can't resist carry the camera around with me on the farm and in the country side. Family and friends joke with me that wherever I go I have a camera and pen and journal attached to me permantently. Thanks for hosting.

Photo ATC's went out today to Tammy, Kathleen, and DorthaKay. :)

EmilyPostPunk 08/ 9/2007 #

I'm waiting until the last minute because I always wait until the last minute but also because for the next couple of days I'm going to have access to a darkroom and I want to do some analog prints instead of digital.
